The Backlog Mass Effect 2

Default Prime's Charles Battersby writes: "The wait is over and Mass Effect 3 is here to conclude the story of this space opera trilogy. But it has been two years since I played Mass Effect 2 and all I remember is that Commander Shepard dies in the first two minutes, then gets miraculously resurrected to save humanity. There was also a mountain of DLC that I never bothered to play. But that changed this week when I grabbed all of the DLC packs and took a second tour through Mass Effect 2. Commander Shepard died for my sins, the least I can do is play his DLC."

Mass Effect - N7 DAY 2025

Bioware writes: "Like you, we’ve heard the rumors lately. You’ve made it clear you care deeply about what’s next. So let’s start by setting the record straight: the next Mass Effect game is in development, and EA and BioWare remain committed to telling more stories in this universe."

I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed

Like with Fallout, it's starting to feel studios are using TV / Film adaptations when they have no game info to talk about.

toxic-inferno212d ago

I feel the same way.

I mean, how difficult would it be for them to release SOMETHING of substance? Another short trailer? A couple of proper hints? A short story set during the original trilogy, but focused on fringe characters?

Hopefully they're working so hard on the game that they don't have time. But still, with every passing year and so little to show, the franchise will be slipping further and further from people's minds.

Profchaos212d ago

Yeah agree it's almost a cop out since Dev times are 5 to 10 years just throw out a few seasons instead you get them done in a year

I still haven’t beat Andromeda. I am waiting for a lull of good games in my backlog

P_Bomb212d ago

So the TV show will take place after the OG trilogy. I wonder which ending they’ll use?

Should’ve just posted a picture of an Elcor saying “regretfully, we have nothing to share.”

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast546d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine546d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast546d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman546d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast545d ago

3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave793d ago (Edited 793d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
