The remake of Carmeggedon is on it's way and Rock Paper Shotgun have some great screens already up

THQ Nordic today announced that the acquisition of the intellectual property “Carmageddon” has been finalized with Stainless Games, based in Newport, Isle of Wight, United Kingdom.
Mmmm in my opinion THQ Nordic it's expanding too much too quick, you gotta be careful especially if your games turns out not exceptionally well like Darksiders 3. You gotta make money to survive after all.
I doubt that Darksiders 3 cost THQ Nordic that much to make, especially considering they opted to barely market the game. I don't think they are going to have to sell an exceptional amount to cover their costs. While we have heard that it barely made a dent in the UK, you have to remember that Hitman 2 and SoulCalibur 6 (a game that seems to be selling well) bombed in the UK as well.
Hellblade's costs (under $10m) were covered by just 300,000 copies. Darksiders 3 is just too expensive to most people at $60. I think the game will be OK long-term but I could be wrong.
THQ Nordic's business model is to have a hold on the AA portion of the games industry. They may be expanding and funding a lot of projects, but most of these projects are relatively cheap or even dirt cheap compared to AAA games.
Spot on. Its not stretching it to say that THQ has big plans on its market share position of all these aquisitions are anything to go by.
That said, although I love the Carmagedon series its a relic by todays standard and I can't see a way for this IP to get up to today's standards.
Agreed. I think the DS3 reception would have been much better if it had a price tag to match it's budget. Nice to see devs still putting out AA games.
You played darksiders 3? Just curious because I have and you can tell it doesn’t have the budget of the first 2 but it’s far from a bad game
I'm quite interested to see where they take this. I loved the original games and although wasn't impressed with the last one released they could do a heck of a lot with this IP.
I STILL play the original port on my phone! I would really like to see what THQ can do.

There was one in 2016 called Carmageddon: Max Damage. Haven't played it myself though.
I still remember running over old people using walkers in the original though, lol.

The Eagle as pictured looks best to me. Can't wait for the rebirth of Carmageddon, just hope it's as much fun as the originals were!
OMFG. This is one of my favorite games of all time. Please get this right, this game is so deserving of a remake.
