I dunno. I'm not sure what to make of it. Best to wait and see. I mean we don't even know if this thing is real or what.

Would be interesting to see how sony and microsoft respond.

ginsunuva5188d ago

They wouldn't care. This is a regular pc in a box minus windows. Not a console.

i don't know about you but i have quite a few friends that would love to play games on p.c but don't because A its too expensive and B its too much hassle. if steam do this right, like a right prive point and make it a lot easier to setup than a gaming pc that can play some games but to play others you might have to fiddle about with setting untill your happy... well i'd say they are on to something big here and it could very well take customers away from microsoft and sony

The worst thing about this, if it does exist Half-life 3 could easily be released as a steambox exclusive. If they finally come out with Half life 3 but it turns out I have to buy a new untested console to play it that'll be a majr kick in the teeth.

As far as I could imagine, the system would be likely to just have all the games that steam usually has. I mean, portal 2 wasn't a steam exclusive, was it?

I don't think you have to worry about it.

Hmm, the only thing I can see as the best feature so far, is that this console will have the best Online service for gamers and for free.

Valve has enough exclusives for it to work Portal, Half Life, Left 4 Dead, Counter Strike etc acourse they would also release on PC thats a given plus if they resort to digital downloads like in the way Microsoft & Sony do it but are competivite in pricing with third party support i can see it succeeding, honestly it would be great to see what they can do and gives us consumers more variety.
