Does the true spirit of Final Fantasy even exist anymore?
Magic the Gathering x Final Fantasy has been so successful that it managed to sell $200 million in just 24 hours.
I think if helped they the prices for all these products were extremely high at launch. Like no other cross over had prices these high. LotR for example weren't even close to FF MTG prices

FFIX was the last great final fantasy in my opinion.
FFX was still good though.
I think they just gradually got worse an worse
after FFIX.
We were so lucky back then i used to get so excited
about playing a new final fantasy.
Now...not so much =(
