All the article is is the author ranting about how horrible these games are, I doubt they even have a sense of humor.

The problem with Rapelay is that people consider it as a video game, and it is only controversial in Occident.
Japanese people don't have the same culture.

Most Japaneses have sexual fetishisms that can be perceived as weird in Occident: humiliation, furry, nyotaimori, futa, bondage, lolicon / shotacon, panchira, public molesting,...

And many ero-games simulate those fetishes so consumers (mostly hikikomori) can fulfill their fantasies without the real-life restrictions (like having to have a partner to practice it).

Pseudo-rape belongs to those fetishes (and many Japanese couples simulate non-consented intercourses to fill that feeling), and this is why Rapelay exists.

And if you actually play the "game", you'll actually see that those "rapes" are far from the occidental perception of rape.

(Note: I did not write this to approve rape or rape simulations, I just wanted to explain the difference between occidental and Japanese sexual culture)

The problem is that many ppl are ignorant, dont care, and they choose not to understand other cultures.

All ppl know is the title and the picture and start making their own conclusions.

ShaunCameron5210d ago

Indeed. All while at the same time remaining silent on the sexism in their own culture if not outright co-signing it.

Postal 2 is hilarious and not at all meant to be taken seriously. Totally politically incorrect, puerile and disgusting. You literally can't do the things you can do in Postal 2 in any other game.

As for JFK Reloaded, well, I've used that as a coffee break game, there's some pretty decent mods out there for it.

And Rockstar. I think even they realised they went too far with Manhunt, that game lacked humanity.

And Mortal Kombat opened doors for games having more mature content whilst having ironic, bloody fatalities as finishers.

I have nothing to say in the defence of the other games.

I think the author missed the point with a lot of these games. Super Columbine RPG shouldn't be viewed as a typical game and if the author actually sat down and played it he would realize that its an alternative narrative. He really should just change the title to "8 Games that Disgust Me."

MRMagoo1235209d ago

No, what he should call the article is "8 games i have formed an uneducated and inexperienced opinion on, even though i say in the article i haven't even tried them or even looked at screen shots." This guy is a douche bag. Its like writing an article "8 movies i find disgusting and hate even though i haven't seen them". How can anyone form any kind of opinion on something they haven't experienced.

God these lists are boring, annoying, and a waste. Writers are being lazy with all these lists popping

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

DarXyde45d ago

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

Mortal Kombat: Flawless Victory Announced

A new book detailing the artwork of the franchise has been announced

robtion311d ago

Let me fix this title to something less click baity for you:

New Book: Mortal Kombat: Flawless Victory Announced.

Garethvk311d ago (Edited 310d ago )

The description clearly says what it is. It is not like people have to click to the site. They just have to read.

robtion310d ago

Sure they don't have to go to the site but to get to the description they already have to have clicked on it. Thus the term 'click bait'.

Rebel_Scum310d ago (Edited 310d ago )

If its a book say its a book in the article title. Everyone’s gonna think this is a new game and get annoyed reading your description.

Garethvk310d ago (Edited 310d ago )

The Mods had no issues with the title.
The first line under the image says new book and you can see it in the preview windows without even having to click to read the description.

It also says a Visual History on the image.

Rebel_Scum310d ago

On desktop and mobile the text a visual history is not visible in the thumbnail on the homepage.

I grew up on this stuff. Adding it to the art collection!

I do hope the next MK iteration goes back to the core of what made these characters appeal in the first place. A few of them lost their edge - I think I've had enough with some of the auntie designs 😂
