The performance boost is not worth the price yet for me. RAM is really where it's at for games right now anyway.

Yes and no, having an SSD greatly improves performance from running games straight from the hard drive in this case with an SSD much faster data rate overall improves not only load times but streaming the data which should result in better fps as well. RAM is cheap and anyone can pick up 16gb ddr3 for less than £100.

anyone buy's 16gb ram who doesnt use it to full potential is stupid.

gaming not need 16gb
encoding not needing 16gb
however SSD do have benifits and i would love one but im a HDD whore, i love storage i love having lots room as i generally do alot downloading.

But SSD have at the moment 3 major things that stops me buying one.

1 amount of storage you get for what i do.
2 life span compared to a magnetic drive
3 price

Most of the time gaming wise, the only thing you're going to see are faster initial load times. Benchmarks have indicated that real-time performance is largely unaltered by SSD's.
