CVG- "Late last year, Nintendo sent shockwaves through the games industry by saying they were expecting their first annual loss in their 30 years in the business. There were outpourings of words we didn't quite understand as people we'd never heard of declared that it was the beginning of the end for Nintendo. Just look at the balance sheet, they said. Was that a Wii Fit reference? We weren't sure, so we set about finding out."

The rejection is non-final (and even when such rejections are labeled as “final”, the process is far from over, given that there can be, at minimum, an appeal to the Federal Circuit).
Good, as they should! A game mechanic like that shouldn't be locked behind a patent, and Nintendo didn't invent it either.
Nintendo wants to keep wasting money on bullshit lawsuits, real smart in this economy. They should put that money aside for other game projects. On the other hand, I don't care if they waste it all either, and they are screwed in the future maybe that will teach them a lesson.

Nintendo completed its share repurchase and set its secondary offering price at 8,347 yen ahead of March 16 delivery.

Nintendo filed a lawsuit in the United States Court of International Trade.
Nintendo of America is suing the United States government over the sweeping tariffs President Donald Trump put in place last year, according to a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. Court of International Trade and obtained by Aftermath.
LOL I read this on gaff, will they refund the money back to the gamers? highly unlikely. Didn't they just raise prices and pass it onto the gamers? Only Nintendo would send out the Ninjas to the US government.
i know this article is about nintendo posting annual loss and such but i have to admit that playing on the vita shows me how archaic and shoddy the 3ds is. people should support the best handheld so nuintendo can make a better handheld next time.supporting rubbish will only make companies continue to give you rubbish.
the 3ds is unfinished with lack of second analog, rubbish camera, small screen, not ergonomic enough, not powerful enough, and a lot of other faults.
Sensational question mark title?
nice article, writer made many good points. about the thick headed investors, not being able to really compare Nintendo with Sony and Microsoft, losses of many companies, even Activision. I never really understood this whole "Nintendo is doomed" rave going on but now I do.
Nintendo is not doomed and Sony is not doomed. I am so tired of seeing all of those Vita is doomed, Wii U is doomed, 3DS is doomed articles.
These so-called "Analysts" don't know squat about gamers and these investors are just the same.
Finally a good article that will hopefully let people see that these negative articles are nothing but BS...
You really can't say what system is better over the other just because of it's technology. It really comes down to each individual's personal tastes. While I have yet to make a decision between the Vita and the 3DS, I have had both the PSP and DS for years and can say for me the better system is the DS simply because I have enjoyed the games on it a lot more than what has been available on the PSP. This time around I only want to get one system, so I'm looking at the games to decide my purchase, not the hardware.
