Anyway 2008 looks to be a great year for Playstation 3 owners, I hear the console "has no games" a lot funny that because there are so many games I want to get for Playstation 3 I can hardly afford them all.

With Grand Theft Auto IV, Metal Gear Solid 4, Silent Hill V (possibly), Killzone 2 next year is going to be awesome. Although seriously when Grand Theft Auto IV finally releases I doubt I will be playing anything else for AGES.

The Sony Playstation 3 is going to have a great 2008. There's no doubt about that. But to assume that Microsoft and Nintendo will just sit back and allow them to gain more Market Share is a joke. You KNOW that they'll do whatever it takes to combat the strong titles from Sony.

The facts are:
XBOX360 has a 7 million console lead right now.
One of the first heavy hitters for the Playstation 3 is Killzone 2.
Killzone 2 will NOT move consoles. It's not mainstream enough. Sorry.
Haze has been delayed.
Little Big Planet (a real console mover) has been delayed.
Metal Gear Solid will move consoles, but not as many as you fanboys think. A stealth game is not mainstream enough. Sorry again.

At the end of 2008, Sony will still be behind the XBOX360 by 7 million consoles. Just watch. Because the one thing that Sony can't deal with is a MAJOR price drop from Microsoft. That would be a AAA Title KILLER. In addition, Microsoft has a strong list of titles of its own. You don't think Halo Wars will garner buzz just from the name alone? And you don't think that Microsoft is going advertise HEAVILY that the downloadable content for GTA4 is on the XBOX360?

One last thing, if Metal Gear Solid doesn't move TONS of software in that first week. That will be trouble for Sony. That game had better move a million right out the gate.

If not, what will that do for the rest of the so-called Heavy Hitters for 2008?

And what if Gears of War 2 actually DOES unveil for Christmas 2008?

Do you really think 7 million lousy consoles is a lot to Sony? Listen to yourself think before you say stupid things on the internet son. Market share is the answer to your so called "lead". The loss of market share can dramatically effect the course of this "lead". The more you give up, the smaller the number of people influenced in buying the product and obviously the end of those people buying the product there altogether, thus making it sell at a slow rate. So the other company's console sales go at a much faster rate. Of course there's a lead because the 3fixme laucnhed 2 years ago. Here's a thought - of course there are games than will compete with this game and I for one believe the *only way it can improve is by imitating or trying to one up KILLZONE II. GOW was XBox360's zenith (in graphics) and nothing else has gone there since. It will have to go through a massive overhaul to match the mayhem on screen I've seen and know will be in KZII. It's tired now, familiar; almost pedestrian. Hmmmmm? Combined with the imminent flood of AAA games, the two SKU policy(cheap & expensive), improving PSN, growing install base, then things are looking good for the Ps3.

I must say it has been a tough year for PS3 and I admit it was the most expensive paperweight I have ever owned . But the tide has shifted and I am glad I hung in there. ........the BLACK BEAUTY is finally coming into its own . No more will I get hot under the collar listening the posturing likes of MART and his contemporaries. This solid feeling of having made the correct choice sits firmly in Place .

It took all my strength not to buy a 360 to play Bioshock. but with all the wonderful games now coming to Sony I will have way to Much action on My Playstation to worry about anything else.

but the truth, at the end of the day is that nintendo has the biggest c0ck :P

they are cashing in like there´s no tomorrow... they outsold both ps and 360 combined in almost every single region...

You can rant about it, call it not truly next gen, get picky on the controller mechanics or how much it truly has to offer... but it really sells more... MUCH more than it´s competitors...

And you know why? because the know how to make games that have something many of this so called next gen games don´t have: heart and shine of htir own.

Granted, next gen is gorgeous looking and tremendously more complex in gaming mechanics than what gaming was years ago...

But as the new consoles add more complex control schemes and actions in games, nintendo found that there is a different way of achieving this.

And while wii may not blow out your minds just look out for nintendo´s next move. Because all this cash they are making solely by sending out to the world some NEW approach to gaming gives them the edge for the next step.

Nintendo´s next console will surelly combine the refined control mechanincs of the wii (and surely better and new ones) with (for sure) up to date graphics for the time (let´s call it 2011 to give some more room to this next gen). And that´s when we will see nintendo capitalyzing on this so questioned but so good selling move they made.

anyways... It was high time sony got good 3rd party support. And there was no doubt at all in the success of the PS3 as a gaming console given it´s huge predecessorm the PS2.
So yes, sony will do great in the next four years, big news whooo! why did anyone ever doubted this? Sony has invested TOO much money so far. Loosing BIG $$ with price drops and still loosing due to not so high software selling rates /which will revert, but sony did get a good blow for it´s not so good first year)

Only this time Sony will have to share a little bit more of the cake, maybe a little too much more. Because nintendo is gettin BIG again, and MS will surely learn it´s final lesson on this gen... And surely will strike with everything it has with the 720. Not to mention wii and 360 have a lifespan as optimist as the PS3 maybe a little bit shorter, but in time to welcome the next gen with good profits.

I went to Best Buy yesterday. There were 2 large stacks of PS3s, a few Arcade 360s, 1 Halo 360, no Wiis.

Everyone was hooked on "justifying" the purchase of the ps3. Well now you have:

Uncharted, Ratchet, Cod4, Heavenly Sword, Ut3 to keep your ps3 warm this holiday. Yes the other systems have more games, but that has nothing to do with a sytem thats been out only one year. The 360 will always have 'more' games numerically. Until it starts to slow like the original Xbox. Thats $300.00 of games right there, and I seriously doubt anyone is buying more than that in 1 month for one system.[Unless you are me]

Devs are learning the PS3, and now we have even great EA titles. The team that did Burnout should be responsible for all EA development now. The one thing the list of earlier games showed is that its definitely not the PS3 thats lacking. Its the developers.

Multiplats are back to the way they always were. Identical to the non pause, zoom in 90x user. You know, the guy who isn't even going to buy the game on either console in the first place. DMC/COD4/Burnout are wonderful examples of this new trend.

The gap in power hasn't closed, it was busted open with Uncharted/GT5p. Uncharted more so, since its out. I do believe its the 360's move to show us all that it can make a game that looks Better if not Equal to Uncharted. So far, Mass Effect and Halo don't fit that bill. You can think so, but the reviewers that everyone on th is site holds in such high esteem don't. Uncharted is the best looking game out this year. On top of that, it plays well too. Gears looked fine for when it came out, but look at it now compared to UT3. UT3 stomps all over it, and Uncharted Stomps all over UT3.

So now the competition is actually worthy of battling.

Both Systems have Great Multiplats.
Both Systems have Great Exclusives.
The 360 wins as far as Online Content/Experience goes. But MS needs to make the service free.
Sony wins design. Everything in 1 box. HDD/Wifi/Sdcards/Bluray-Player .
Sony needs to come out with home if it really wants to stir things up. PSN is a joke.

All three systems will do well in 08. I will say this Sony does have the best line-up for 2008 so far. The Wii has 3-4 big titles. 360 have about 10 really good ones. Almost all the big titles on the PS3 I will own next year. If Gears 2 comes out next year I will have that too. As far a Fable goes it was the best and shortest game I have played. I don't look forward to Fable 2 at all. Will it be worth $60 I don't think so. I feel that same way about Heavenly Sword. Breath taking game but way to short. I personally think Folklore beat that one.

Next year my wife gets her own PS3 so she will leave mine alone. LBP will rule her life for along time lol. But she will get it when HAZE comes out in Jan. Co-op ftw! Depending on how my 6 year old does with the Wii I might upgrade her as well. I recently upgraded her DS to a PSP.

There are games coming out in 2008 that will sell really well.

The PS3 has more proven IPs going into 2008. Similar to the 360's 07 line-up. We've seen what happens when you hype up new IPs like Blue Dragon, HS, Jericho, LO, Lair, etc.

I can already predict whats gonna happen during 2008;

"OMG "x" game didn't sell!!!!! NPD charts says so!!!!! HA HA HA another nail in the coffin for "y" system!!!!! This is why i chose "y" system with "x" games and it sold "z" consoles for the week!!!!"

And about 50+ comments on 360 being more powerful than the PS3 because of Halo 3 or some other game that is over-argued (despite the countless walls of used copies for sale).

Now for the reality:

A lot of the games comming for PS3 do "look" good; however only a handful I'm really gonna buy; the rest is gonna be "rented" just in case they don't live up to the hype.

After the Assassins Creed fiasco I've learned my lesson on buying a game before trying it out; yes charts can show high sales numbers, however my personal opinion - the game was garbage from the beginning and towards the end; didn't deliver what was hyped. This is with ALL games/consoles not just one.

Uncharted was a really good game even on the demo, I was able to complete it and plan on playing it again.

Ratchet and Clank Future is also another game I liked and it was my first time ever playing any of the games.

Call of Duty 4 was by far the best first person shooter I've played since Rainbow Six Vegas, Resistance, and Goldeneye 64.

What would help consumers is have some type of demo or game play videos on that console to give players some sort of feel on what to expect; don't just show the action scenes or movies either to make it "look" good.

And I will say again; until I'm convinced on owning more than one home console I'm sticking to what I've bought back in April 2007, the PS3. So far the system hasn't let me down as a gamer. I'm sure some 360 fanboys are gonna argue and have some lame comment like "hope you like pushed back games" or "wow you must like washed-down ports."

Please do it fanboys....

All the xbox guys usually saying how great the xbox 360 game library and attach rate..etc...

for me.. when i saw those news.. its just a laugh... because it all look too funny to me.

When i over view the xbox360 game library... what do they have??? all their system seller game is FPS which is what i hated the most, and personally i just feel FPS is the most stupid type of game for me (this is my personal thing , no offense to anyone)

so .. without FPS , there is almost nothing for me to play on xbox360.

attach rate?? i dont care that, in my point of view, why need a lot of game when one or two game is already able to play for long time. ONLY when game are "finished" or not more attractive to me, then i will go for new games. higher attach rate has positive side saying this console selling a lot of games, but have negative saying... this console's game are easily bored .... so u need more game to kill ur time. to use your consol...

and by looking at the coming year line up.. i totally on the ps3 side because there are simply more amazing games i want over there... xbox ??? i see nothing will move me to go for it .

for system reliability... my ps2 played at least 8 hrs a day for 3 non stop year (believe? lol) then 3 hr a day for another 3 year... nothing ever goes wrong even a tiny bit... thus the quality of consol i have the trust on sony.

xbox 360 overheat problem get solved??? who knows... just too much poor quality report i have seen for xbox 360... go no mood to even try to risk my money on it already...

hd-dvd extra ? i rather save my money for few other things... online fee ??? i prefer pay on something else , online accees i can basically use my computer why should i pay for it when i am not even gaming xbox360 ? no matter how "less" the $$ it is, it's a cheating..
