many PS3 owners are wondering why CD Projekt isn’t releasing its RPG masterpiece on Sony’s console. CD Projekt wanted to try first something "a little bit easier."

Dice along with many other multiplatform developers will say this for investers and perception. Dice is dealing with issues with their game on the PS3 as we speak. The fact is this company made a decision to just develop for the 360 and avoid what Skyrim and many other multiplatform games have dealt with and that is complaints about the PS3 version. It is simply a business decision and they don't feel the cost justifies them to try and bring it and run into possible development problems down the road. Nothing to do with bragging about who has what exclusives. It simply comes down to business and common sense.

DICE can say whatever they want (since they got some extra Sony cash to do so).

The 360 version of BF3 runs and plays (no lag) better than the PS3 version. That's fact.

Both consoles have their strengths, but the Xbox 360 often times sale double or very near ps3 sales and that is why it's usually an Xbox 360 game, that and it looks beautiful on the Xbox 360.....always and not always on the ps3 due to it's difficulties.

@Da Threats - Try convincing some the PS3 die hards that this is the case and not that M$ paid them.

As a PS3 and 360 owner I am glad that they are doing this instead of giving us crappy port for the PS3.

Thats just the thing that no matter what CD Project do they will get crucified - if they release SH!TTY port then N4G will go nuts and if they don't release a port N4G still goes nuts.

I played witcher 2 onlive and it wasn't all that, but really even if I did care it wouldn't matter, I'm pretty much over this gen and ready for next gen to start. Even if it means if it starts with the WiiU. But I guess this is gonna be good for those who only own a 360 considering yall don't have much exclusives, sorry, I mean console exclusives. So have fun, I know I didn't I hope you 360 guys have fun, really I do.

ame excuse for robbing gamers on a platform well capable of the experence. Either way i can play my pc version with everything set to high so :/ don't effect me to much.

But come on there i always a point when you have to draw a line underthese and have alook at the two platforms compare the exculsives and see where money is being sliped one direction are the other.

End of the day if this game goes to PS3 end of day thats all it ever was Money.

Whats your point? It was about the money when it was released on the PC only. Where do some of you come up with these rants about why a company makes a decision on what direction they want to go and begin with claiming your happy with your purchase. If that is the case you shouldn't give two shits if this was announced for any console. The company isn't robbing anyone of any experience. If you want to play the game you have OPTIONS now instead of just the one prior. Ford and Chevy don't sell their Expeditions and Tahoes in Japan for a reason. This company made the decions at this time to NOT develope a PS3 version. Simple as that as far as it goes for us that are not in that board room making the decisions.

The facts are that Sony made their bed and the decisions they put into the PS3 is what they have had to live with and development has been difficult for multiplatforms. It cost money to make games and if companies or investors don't see a good outcome to bring the game to the PS3 then it is their decision to not do so. This is how it works in every single industry.

What gurantees it will? Factors come into play as to whether they want to based on if sales are good and they have the investment to bring it to the PS3. You have no idea what this companies plans are laid out as so anyone with a brain should know it isn't guranteed it would.

And that's exactly why ps3 multiplats are usually really poorly done right? Cuz it's just as easy to develop for right? Oh and u know even though naughty dog and many other Sony devs have stated that the ps3s architecture makes it harder to dev for is a lie right? And that the 360 is based on pc architecture so naturally a pc game would be easier ported to 360 is bull right?

TBH it'l probably never come out for PS3.

They have a small development team and they made the game for windows (and using directx for rendering) which means it is relatively simple to port it to 360 but almost impossible to port it to ps3 - it would have required a multiplat design from day 1; otherwise they have to reprogram 60-90% of the game which means all the complex rendering in OpenGL not to mention the totally different architecture that the ps3 has from 360/pc (which completely changes how they need to design the multithreaded logic, data structures, possibly resource formats too)

By the time they have spare man hours to port it to ps3, they will be more interested in developing their next title (opportunity costs).

1. CDProjekt already said they are small developers and handling both x360 and ps3 is not possible, especially when ps3 needed more development time to get it right. CDprojekt want to get it right after the fiasco with the first witcher and they have to cancel the entire thing.

2. What have the trend say about WRPG? Does it sells more on x360 or on PS3? If you look around, WRPG tend to do better x360 right?

3. You are right that it is all about money.
-easier to port to x360 due to similarity to PC = less man power, less development time and less budget required.
-trend shown higher sell potential of WRPG for x360 than PS3
-Longer development time require for Ps3 when they don't have the man power to do so.
-They are planning on working for Witcher 3, so man power become even more critical.

It is a right decision by CDProjekt. They might grow and be able to have more people to work on ps3 later, but for now, that what it is.

What started this was just hinting that it will come in time :) That gives CDProjekt the time mentioned m8.

As with many games before it theres money to be had and its an investment route many companys have gone down before. CDProjekt are a small developer base thats true.

I might have been abit over sealous emplying they where robbing gamers lol :D. Look at the reaction ^^ :D. But i do believe that they will go down that route and Sony gamers will see Witcher on there console aswell.

End of the day it is money and no developer in thi day and age where piracy is running ripe can be without a profit margin. Esp when games are only picking up 2-5 million sales a platform.

Ain't like there EA.

Already paid for my pre-order copy of the Witcher 2 Dark Edition for my SHITBOX 360.

Can't wait to compare the SHITBOX version with my PC version; I don't expect much, but I could be surprised.
