Twisted Metal Status Update; Server Maintenance, Stats, And Other Updates

MP1st - David Jaffe gives an update on Twisted Metal Matchmaking, PS3 crashes, and other issues with the online multiplayer.

-Alpha5224d ago (Edited 5224d ago )

Sony needs to get this together, they are completely crapping on the game's image. I feel really bad for ESP

Nitrowolf25224d ago

Yea no kidding. I really hope that today the day that they get it fixed.

ritsuka6665224d ago

fix the controls jaffe.

Lets face it,this game had a lot of problems, none of which were more frustrating than the controls.

Nitrowolf25224d ago (Edited 5224d ago )

You have already been told on GT forums that they are the same controls as past TM games.
http://forums.gametrailers....

What's hard to understand about it?
There's also a racing setting
Only thing I don't like is the inverted reverse.

TheLastGuardian5223d ago

Don't blame the controls for why you suck at the game. This ain't a FPS, don't expect to master the controls in 5 minutes. Maybe this game is too complex for you.

I have no idea what the "lot of problems" are you're talking about. The only issues I've had were trying to join a game room through multiplayer. I have no trouble getting in a game room though quick online action.

ritsuka6665223d ago (Edited 5223d ago )

ehhh???

if people are complainging, its because theres a problem with the controls.go to skyrim,BF3,boards and youll see no one complaining about the controls.Trust me.

raztad5223d ago (Edited 5223d ago )

@ritsu

That is because TM doesnt hold your hand.

It took me 2 hours to get a feel of the controls. I tried all the available presets and Classic was the better for me. Controls make a lot of sense once you get a hold of them.

cvflyboy5223d ago

The controls are perfect bro... this game has been around for a while and I really don't want them dumping it down for whiners like you. Put the time in.

TheLastGuardian5223d ago

The only people complaining about the controls are TM noobs like you. There is a heavy learning curve for players new to this series, but skilled gamers know how to adapt to any control scheme. There's nothing wrong with the controls, it's just different from what you're used to playing this gen. Keep practicing, you'll learn to master the controls eventually.

r215223d ago

the controls are frustrating....for noobs. took me a great deal of 4 whoopings from challenge mode on the demo to finally get it.

My little brother who hasnt ever played TM games in his life beat the challenge mode in one try! Still hasnt failed and now, hes buying the game day one. My face :O

The controls are great, however I woulndt mind if they implemented an option to make the reverse non-inverted.

Legionaire20055223d ago (Edited 5223d ago )

Hopefully they get all these problems fix before games like Syndicate, SSX, Binary Domain, and the biggest competitor Mass Effect 3 comes out. If they have better online(Mass Effect 3 multiplayer demo servers are fantastic), then people are not going to wait around. I love this game, and it is a disappointment to the fans to deal with this on launch, and we all thought it was just the demo. One game design decision I hate,is the way how in the campaign and in challenge mode the enemy A.i. just go after you. They don't go after each other. Wish they could change that.

Wow cyberpunk is a great pick up. If you haven’t played it you should definitely give it a try

Christopher331d ago

Banishers was dragged down by the need to go back to old areas multiple times.

GhostScholar332d ago

Also if you bought it at launch and couldn’t deal with all the bugs it’s a totally different game now

stupidusername331d ago

Played it on release and thought it was a mess. But I'm currently playing it again now on both PS5 and Switch 2 with cross save progression, and it's really different to how I remember it. Really enjoying it now, and it's really polished and immersive.

darthv72332d ago

Despite owning the 2077 One X console and the steelbook edition of the game... i still have never played it. I may actually give 2077 a try (via the portal) as there has been so much talk about it again, thanks to SW2 and now this comparison vid from DF. https://youtu.be/SvGQik3m6a...

dveio332d ago (Edited 332d ago )

I think it's an okay decision or happening.

iirc, wasn't there even a new and probably last update coming soon announced recently?

I've never played 2077, neither. (I am still a bit mad about their ... well, anyway.)

But I think it can't get better to play that game, or any game for that matter, in a 100% complete, fully updated build.

DivineHand125332d ago

Cyberpunk and Risk of rain 2 are the best of the bunch. Not a bad month if you are one of the few that haven't played those games.

yeastori332d ago

Cyberpunk is probably one of the best games I've ever played, even when it came out with all the bugs and glitches and broken gameplay on consoles, I still loved it at its core because the world was exactly what I wanted in a dystopian vision of the real future and the story was actually well done and compelling. With the fixes and then Phantom Liberty I just knew that this game could've been GOTY winner if it hadn't been released too early and released on PS5. XBX and two years later.

shinXseijuro332d ago

Might give cyberpunk a chance now that the game redeemed itself . Is it only the basic game or with the newer content ?

xHeavYx332d ago

According to the article, it's just the base game, but the DLC will be 30% off

TM3 is my favorite but I'll take what they bring out gladly. Fun times back in the day and great soundtracks

Cacabunga614d ago

Last one on ps4 wasn’t good at all.
Hoping for some good reboot or remake of the first 3

Dagexon614d ago

You mean the one on ps3?

Cacabunga613d ago

Yes i do, thanks! I realized too late couldn’t edit

Lego 2K Drive features an exciting mode called Brick Brawl, inspired by Twisted Metal. Players can create, share, and upload various cars, including ones like Sweet Tooth. The game boasts thousands of custom cars, ranging from the Batmobile to the Sweet Tooth ice cream truck.

InUrFoxHole614d ago

Never understood the like for the series. Not my bag but I know a lot of gamers are clamoring for a new game and liked the TV. Series

TiredGamer614d ago (Edited 614d ago )

TM1 and 2 are time period classics. They were a bit rough, ugly, and grungy, but they felt right during the time period they were released and they scratched that early console “death match” itch before FPS games would completely swallow that market.

Many great memories with friends playing couch co-op and 1v1. Short, and quick-and-dirty gameplay that we returned to over and over. I’d buy a remake or proper remastering of the first two games day one.

InUrFoxHole614d ago

Lol, nice! I remember having the tiger handheld or watch..

FinalFantasyFanatic613d ago

I played those so much as I kid, I bought the Twisted Metal games that were on PSN as Playstation Classics, wow, they feel clunky by today's standards, they could really use the remake/remaster treatment.

UltimateOwnage614d ago

Twisted Metal: Black is when the series really hit for me. I still love that game so much. It was kind of downhill for the series after that IMO. I'd love to see the series go back to its roots, but I don't hold out a lot of hope for David Jaffe coming back from where he is these days to oversee development of a competent sequel.

Snookies12613d ago

Black was the pinnacle in my opinion. I adored TM1 and TM2, for sure. But Black brought it to a whole new level of awesome.
