IaMs125133d ago

Wow, okay i cannot wait for this game now.

Lets hope the game itself lives up to the hype of the trailer.

Paradicia5133d ago

What's the bet that this will be delayed back until sometime in 2013? :L

young juice5133d ago

and dang son they was bumpin that song

can anyone identify the music?

pweeeeez

CommanderSheperd5133d ago

The dubstep music really ruined the trailer, it just doesn't belong here. If they made it more dramatic, this would have been so much better. So annoying hearing that music in everything now.

Autodidactdystopia5133d ago

I disagree the dubstep music intensified the music plus I thought that soundtrack was somewhere in the original resident evil movie.

sounds kinda like this.
http://www.youtube.com/watc...

I loved it.

dont care what you think. they fukin nailed the music. I know cause i am all knowing. lol

BattleAxe5133d ago

Great music, great trailer, and the E3 trailer/ gameplay footage was awesome too. Day one purchase for me.

Dacapn5132d ago

If you ask me, dubstep should be in more games. It's like modern day 8 bit music.

Drake1175132d ago

No its not, dubstep is absolutely terrible and overused, its not even music. But between this and the gameplay trailer and previous FC games i'm super pumped for this. But get rid of that ridiculous crap playing in the background of all your trailers ubisoft please!

DeadlyFire5132d ago

Its possible I say, but I am a little doubtful. Game is hitting so close to next generation launch its possibly already having a WiiU version in the works. Not sure about other two platforms, but they will likely get a Far Cry 3 port instead of an upgrade. That is typically Ubisoft design to do things that way.

Dacapn5132d ago

Overused? What is this like the 2nd or 3rd game in the history of all games to put dubstep in the trailer? And to say it's not music is just being willingly ignorant. I don't like country, but I'm not going to deny that it's music. There's a place for this music in games. Playing street fighter with glitch mob or bassnectar in the background makes the game even ballsier than it already is.

PS3Freak5132d ago

It's Noisia - Machine Gun (16 bit remix)

Great song, I love dubstep, and I think it fit with the trailer.

Haters can suck it.

young juice5132d ago

@PS3Freak bubs. thanks bro

@Autodidactdystopia yup they hella nailed this trailer. got me pumped

@Drake117 i like how you think you know the definition of expression through music

i know what kinda music you like... http://www.youtube.com/watc...

torchic5133d ago

yea this trailer is just stellar. just raised my expectations for the game a s***load. I want to save the girl!

Wenis5133d ago

Im still looking forward to this game, but one thing I've learned over the years is to not let a pretty CGI trailer get me hyped for a game

Kingdom Come5132d ago

That comment almost cries "Dead Island", I saw the trailer and it looked like the perfect blend of emotion, terror and combat, at the following E3 I saw gameplay and just immediately lost all interest. Quite often, CGI trailers act as a shroud of mystery, they shield the true identity of a game and manipulate the audience into perceiving the game to be something it isn't. Luckily, us true gamers aren't so easily fooled, I mean, some people see mediocre gameplay, THEN see the CGI trailer and think that it changes everything they'd seen prior to it...

cannon88005133d ago

It probably will, but man it's getting really annoying how there's dubstep on every freaking game trailer. Not that i have anything against dubstep but its so annoying when the same style of music is being used for trailers almost all the time.

FunkMacNasty5132d ago

Dubstep is horrible IMO.. that music is nothing but a big fad at the moment thatks to cats like Skrillx... it will be remembered in 20 years in the same corny way Disco is remembered today.

Game trailers need more FUNK music! Who doesn't want to see some bad-ass character blowing up bad guys to the sound of James Brown's "Payback"? :)

bigboss9115132d ago

"that music is nothing but a big fad" sure is uninformed in here. Dubstep and music like it has been around since 1998.

Dacapn5132d ago (Edited 5132d ago )

Man there are literally a handful of games that have used dubstep in their trailer.

HD version plz ...
awesome graphics CG or real time ? dunno ...

gedapeleda5132d ago

Uncharted still looks better

Sharky55133d ago

Very nice, agreed tho...lets hope its as good as it looks

spicelicka5133d ago

it looked pretty amazing during the last e3 presentation. They showed that psycotic character Vaas in-game and he looked pretty badass.

DA_SHREDDER5133d ago

Straight up Chloe clone rip off. I would say almost a Drake rip off too if had there been any tresure hunting involved, but anyways, this is gonna be a next gen launch title, no doubt about it.

Kingdom Come5133d ago (Edited 5133d ago )

Do you set out to Troll? (Stupid Question)
I shouldn't particularly be humouring you but for those that don't know the game is confirmed for Xbox 360, PC & PS3.

P.S. If it was Drake and Chloe, they'd know the name of the Island, regardless of it being unmarked on maps.

young juice5133d ago

i wouldnt call it a rip off. but i would be lieing if i said i didnt get a nathan drake vibe from this guy. which is actually a breath of fresh air compared to the war-hardened dummys we been gettin lately

Fishy Fingers5133d ago

Ignoring your 'clone' BS, it releases this sept, so your 'next gen' remark seems unlikely. They're just going to show the PC build.

MsclMexican5133d ago

Ok... Im a huge Uncharted fan... and I am calling you an idiot...

This game may have some character aspects from Uncharted... but I would say that is a good thing... as it distinguishes from the bald macho man character type.

Hell the look that Drake, Booker de Wit (Bioshock Infinite) and Jason Broode from Farcry is the "every man" look

The style they all want to go for

Drake1175132d ago

Bingo! this seems like some every day guy that just likes to party lol, but then for some reason hes partying in hell.

DeadlyFire5132d ago

Well its a nice preview of next generation Graphics for Uncharted 4 then. lol

Either way it does a nice job of presenting the game even with the CGI. CGI builds alot of hype for a game. Its something other developers should go back to showing off I believe.

Kingdom Come5133d ago (Edited 5133d ago )

The trailer was decent, however it didn't achieve all of which I had initially hoped for:
(My comment yesterday regarding the upcoming trailer) "Despite initially wanting the trailer to be gameplay, Ubisoft did a great job of establishing the scenario and characteristics surrounding the villains of "Rainbow Six Patriots" with their VGA Trailer and with such an intriguing concept, Far Cry 3 could benefit from a CG Trailer, I hope it at least builds on the characteristics of the main character rather than just the villain, you felt nothing for the protagonist in Far Cry 2."

Whilst the trailer did a great job of highlighting the psychological state of the villain, it painted the protagonist and his girlfriend in a weak light, making them seem weak, both physically and mentally (Before magically the protagonist transforms in to a bad-ass), it also made the scenario seem somewhat like a low budget horror film (Taking a boat trip to an unmarked island? Really?). Finally, the dubstep, for me, was out of place and character for the franchise.

I would have preferred a gameplay trailer but that wasn't the case and whilst I don't consider the trailer to be to an equal quality to those of Rainbow Six Patriots, it was a good effort.

Nevertheless, I'll still be purchasing the game day one. Bring on the Map Editor announcement!

Dacapn5132d ago

Yeah while the dupstep didn't quite fit the trailer, I'd like to see more dupstep in games.

Far Cry 3 60 FPS Trailer

The new trailer for the free 60 FPS update is here.

TriniOutsider42d ago

I'm happy with Part 3 & Blood Dragon getting the 60FPS treatment. I'll eventually try Primal, maybe this weekend.

Far Cry Has Become A Shadow Of Its Former Self

Following a series of repetitive games, a formulaic approach, and a disappointing last entry, the Far Cry series has been run into the ground.

The trouble with most criticisms of this franchise is that they insist Far Cry 3 was the best game, but the things they claim to hate about the franchise are all the elements that 3 introduced.

Deeeeznuuuts591d ago

Couldn't agree with you more! I've always thought that, my personal favourite is two, the whole atmosphere, mystery, adrenaline, my vehicle steaming up because I've crashed too many times trying to escape and then getting in a shootout, having to pull a bullet out my arm while fire rages and bullets fly, can't beat it

JEECE591d ago

Yep, 2 is my favorite by far as well, and one of my favorite singleplayer games of all time. It was probably one of the last games Ubisoft made before they started homogenizing their franchises to be open world collect-a-thons with unnecessary RPG mechanics tacked on. I enjoyed 3 for what it was, but it was clearly an attempt to make the franchise appeal to a mass audience (which, in fairness, was successful).

LucasRuinedChildhood591d ago

That's not the issue. If Far Cry 3 never existed and they just made another 5 or 6 games that were increasingly generic copies of Far Cry 2 instead, would that make FC2 the real problem?

No. It's the lack of creativity and effort that followed that's the real issue.

And there are things that are genuinely different about FC3. Simple example - the story was easily the best. Best main villain by far too but it also has strong themes and wasn't afraid to explore controversial topics. The sequels are much blander.

Comparing the fun and creativity of Blood Dragon to the DLC in the sequels ... also says a lot about how Ubisoft fell off.

-Foxtrot590d ago

Yeah like even Far Cry 4 was decent, not as great as FC3 but they still gave us an interesting story, setting and villain. Pagan Min's random calls to Ajay were pretty funny.

They just got lazier and lazier, pumping them out while making it a little more streamlined each time. I mean Jesus, they gave us a silent protagonist with FC5 which really hurt the main story and are obsessed with pleasing everyone by trying to do two characters, male and female rather than just settling on one to tell the best story they can.

neutralgamer1992590d ago

I started FC6 and yes the game works fine but I just wssnt Fun. Do many Ubi games are huge playgrounds but feel empty and doesn't give the feeling of a world which is lived in

JEECE590d ago

I have found that the more recent FC games work better as what I call "background games." Basically what I mean is it's nice to have an active save in one of them going for those times you have 45 minutes to play games and just want to have fun and don't want to get bogged down playing a game online or starting a new game and spending all your time into an annoying tutorial. Like I haven't touched FC4 in years but I know if I had 30 minutes to an hour to play I could hop in and easily be back in the swing of things and attack an outpost and have a good time.

I think a lot of people use big RPGs like Skyrim or Cyberpunk in a similar way.

isarai590d ago

Yes because FC3 executed those aspects better. Every game since FC3 has just been Frankensteined off the bones of FC3 with half the effort.

Michiel1989591d ago

you could say it's a far cry from what it was

wesnytsfs591d ago

Ubisoft gets a lot of hate for their content filling of maps. Personally I enjoy the mechanic when i play an open world game I like revealing hte entire map and doing all the side mission stuff before i go into main missions. Far Cry and the RPG AC maps where a joy to play.

RaidenBlack591d ago

Far Cry 2 was soo unique ... it was ahead of its time and is often misunderstood (thank you Clint Hocking, can't wait for his next game Assassins Creed Hexe)
(yes, FC2 was a departure from from FC1, so in strictest sense, Crysis 1 & 3 are the truer successors)

JEECE591d ago

Yep. Unfortunately there has been so little since then that has scratched the same itch. Really the closest thing has been BOTW, which uses a lot of similar systems (though ironically FC2 came out before Ubisoft put the Assassin's Creed towers in Far Cry, while BOTW had Ubi towers). Obviously it isn't a shooter though. I keep hoping that that some indie dev will put an FC2-esque game out on Steam, but so far I've been left wanting.

Sircolby45591d ago

I actually enjoyed Far Cry 5 and New Dawn. Far Cry 6 was a joke. It was a step backwards in every way. That was probably the worst Far Cry I have ever played.

Far Cry 3, an open-world masterpiece that redefined the series. Gameplay and storyline makes it a timeless classic that still inspires today.

It's gotta be Far Cry 2 for me, the feeling of that game I'm still yet to find again, just everything about it, I'd kill for a remaster, I'd even be happy with just a bump in resolution and frame rate, occasionally go back to it, think I'm gunna have to do just that now 😂

porkChop624d ago

A remaster of Far Cry 2 would be amazing, especially with the mods that fixed the broken stealth system and the dumb checkpoint respawns. Include those fixes and it would be a huge upgrade over the original.

JEECE624d ago

Enemies respawn in Far Cry 2? Terrible! It's a broken system! Make me a one-man army who can inexplicably hold an entire region!

Enemies respawn in Dark Souls and Zelda? Brilliant! So much more hardcore! Glad the devs took risks!

porkChop623d ago

The problem isn't them respawning. It's that they respawned after just 5 minutes. Like you'd still be in the area looking for diamonds, loot, exploring, etc, and the enemies would just respawn with you there.
