If we're going to do lame wishlists, here's mine.

1. Play 360 games
2. Play HD DVD discs
3. Play N64 carts
4. Play Laserdisc

We don't need in game XMB, thats just daft because it is packed with stuff that you will never need to do while playing such as launch videos etc, what is needed is in game messaging and access to your friends list.

Beyond that I would like to see the SD DVD player made multi region as it is pretty standard now and the ability to play my old region 1s would be nice, a internet radio thing would also be nice.

I also kinda like the idea of being able to send photos from my phone to the console by bluetooth, that would be a pretty sweet app IMO.

The idea of widgets on the main menu is also a possibility, Konfabulator is available for Linux so it wouldn't be too tough to get it running on the PS3.

I'm not sure if it was there before but, I noticed yesterday that after the 2.10 update I could bring up the XMB while playing a divx movie and on the web browser. If they did it with those two things ingame XMB is just around the corner.

the guy does clearly say his list is as a hi-def fan rather than a gamer so i can fully understand his wish list

mine would be

1.the standard in game xmb would be nice but i can personally wait until it is ready i don't want something rushed

2.recording my gameplay or my tv onto the hard drive would be cool i did hear they had something planned for digitaltv

3.improved online profiles

4.Achievements i know this is coming with home but something in profiles would be nice i am not sure how much i would use home

5. 1.1 BR is great but the faster we can get to 2.0 would be great

6.browser needs some work if only i could replace it with Firefox in my dreams

XMB!! I know it will come with HOME ..I expect every update will address the needs of all PS3 fans. Its hard to believe but sony is listening to us so all PS3 owners SPEAK OUT..

1. Don't make updates for the PS3 a weekly chore for your users.
2. Major emphasis on the first one. ^^^^^^

1080i scaling support for all games would be nice. For those with HDTVS that do not support 720P or games that do not support 1080 resolutions.

why is in game cross media bar so important?

i'm being deadly serious here. i mean, i've owned my PS3 for about 10 months now, and never once have i felt compelled to access the cross media bar while playing a game.

maybe it's just an online gamer thing (i probably play a game online twice a month; i am, and always will be, a single player gamer 99% of the time).

custom soundtracks i also don't quite understand. personally, i wouldn't want to hear Tenacious D blaring in the background while playing Uncharted or Heavenly Sword, or even Folklore, as the music in those games are nothing short of breathtaking, but i guess i can understand it if the music in a game sucks (ie, High Velocity Bowling, but thank god you can play the music on your HDD instead).

i just don't understand *WHY it's so important, and would appreciate if someone could clarify for me.

Only thing i have a gripe about that is when you see your friends logging in and he sends you a message online and you cant mesage him unless you get out of a game .

question ? with the new 1.1 for blu ray with the pip . would it be possible to play your games and do in game video chat ? that would be awesome doing a touchdown celebration in somebody face . or even moon them
