hope it's some real solid info and a new trailer

TimmyShire5223d ago

You can almost be certain of it. They'll want to get Max Payne 3 out of the way, then they'll provide some real deets on GTA 5.

WOO, etc.

ardivt5223d ago

yeah that sounds pretty plausible. let's hope they give more info than they gave for gtaIV. except for some trailers there wasn't too much info on the game back then.

still I hope for the next gen and a gta game looking like this:

Veneno5223d ago

I'm hoping the GTA 5 will have a big world like San Andreas. I felt GTA4's world felt so small compared to SA's. And it had fewer things to do.

SolidStoner5222d ago

yes, the main flaw in GTA IV was lack of open fields, desert and mountains like in SA. I think GTA5 will have all that and even more.

BattleTorn5223d ago (Edited 5223d ago )

at E3, games often have announcements. (in June)

gta28005223d ago (Edited 5223d ago )

Don't let me know more info is coming in months time. Just fuckin let me know when it comes.

Feckles5223d ago

About time. I need to know a release date more than anything else. In game screens would be great too.

xPhearR3dx5223d ago

What ever the release date is, tack on another 3-6 months and you'll have the real release date. You know how Rockstar is lol

skyward5223d ago

Please give us some new info - stunning visuals, new mechanics, improved combat etc. Can't wait.

Kaizin5145223d ago

'In A Few Months' Time... aka E3.... let's hope before though

kmanmx5223d ago (Edited 5223d ago )

Rockstar never go to game shows. Ever.

They are like the Apple of the game world. They create their own hype, and don't need to attend shows to get publicity.

Kaizin5145223d ago

You are right, Rockstar doesn't go, they have their logo tattoo'd on exec's arms.

But yea, they do create their own hype, which I actually appreciate more. Hopefully we get something good.

Well that has e3 written all over it lol

Rockstar launches official marketplace for mods

Rockstar has launched an official marketplace for "every server and every player" to buy mods: Cfx Marketplace.

I wonder how much of this isn't just taken work of others who have modded for free.

Edit: Also, great way for R* to take popular ideas and build them into GTAVI based on demand.

fr0sty137d ago

What I see happening here is, R* is going to ban mods in GTA6 UNLESS you buy them from the marketplace and R* then gets a cut of that sale.

ActualWhiteMan137d ago

Ah, perfect timing with them taking down the Bully online fan mod. Greedy a$$ company.

Christopher137d ago

It's okay as long as they get a cut of the money.

fr0sty137d ago

Expect R* to force it on you.

Snookies12137d ago

Yep, right there with you. I'll happily donate to a mod creator if it looks really cool, or if I enjoy it. But expecting payment up front? Nope, not touching it.

IanTH137d ago (Edited 137d ago )

I'm not entirely sure how to read this, as it doesn't seem exactly like an exact parallel to Bethesda's paid mods shenanigans.

Rather than single player stuff, this appears to be aimed solely on Cfx Servers. From what I've gleaned, apparently Rockstar bought the Cfx mod team several years ago, coming a few years after weird contentions led them to ban a few of their members. Ultimately, the question is if they plan to keep this contained to only online/servers.

I have to guess to a degree yes. It'd be pretty hard to "force" paid mods for single player when modding files locally on your own machine, but much easier for servers they'll control. So perhaps this is their soft launch ahead of GTA6 online and they'll clamp down more tightly on non-official servers going forward? Ever since they've become a 1 or 2 property studio, I haven't really cared much for Rockstar stuff, so I'm not entirely up on everything surrounding this. Sounds like it has the potential to be problematic further down the line, but right now fairly easy to ignore...I think lol.

PlayStation Store’s top downloads of 2025

O'Dell Harmon Jr. writes: "Before we say goodbye to 2025, let’s take a look back and see what were the most downloaded games of the year. It was a great time for sports, shooters, and some new PlayStation VR2 games. Sports favorites topped the charts in US/Canada and EU, with NBA 2K26 and EA Sports FC26, respectively.

Juggernaut GTA V found a home in the top three for both regions, with new 2025 release Battlefield 6 claiming second place in the US. Fortnite took top place for free-to-play games, and Beat Saber continues its PS VR2 success."

FH5 4th in Europe compared to North America 14th. Not surprising.

LucasRuinedChildhood138d ago

I think it shows how shortsighted it was for Sony to let go of Evolution and not get them to make some sort of competitor (open world Driveclub?) 10 years ago.

bionicstar138d ago (Edited 138d ago )

its a hard bet to make. hindsight is always 20/20.

Christopher138d ago

After Driveclub's reception, hard to say it would have done well enough to compete. It's easy to dream of such a thing, but to make it happen? It's taken how long for CoD to be dethroned? And it was dethroned by Hogwart's Legacy and has gained it right back just the next year.

It’s funny to watch the only games EU and USA agree on was Minecraft and back ops 7 both regions on 6 and 7 spot respectively other than that FIFA rules EU

gold_drake138d ago

I would like to see a list that has both free to play and paid games together, but at least we have this.

To this day GTA5 is a top downloaded game and it makes me wonder if the industry is really ready for GTA6. I imagine almost nothing else will sell during that game's release window.
