Where is my White History Month?

dc15213d ago (Edited 5213d ago )

'Where is my White history month?
Answer: every other month.

The real answer is that black American history should be so incorporated in the standard us history curriculum that a set aside month would be unnecessary.

Sadly this is not the case and marginalization is still real.

Its good see developer introduce realistic portrayal of all minorities. The following studios do a particularly good job in this regard:
Value
Santa Monica studios
Rock Star
Bioware

I can understand your feeling towards the "where is my white history month?". If you took slavery out of the picture, would this month still exist? And if slavery didn't exist, and America still had a black history month, then shouldn't there be days for other races?

Is it because slavery is still an issue today? Do people still openly taunt this horrid past?

Now that I've got that out of the way, I need to say this.

It is absurd for you to say "where is my white history month". The question itself makes you seem jealous and racist without some type of explanation behind it.

January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December. Unforunately there's no more months.

White history month is all year round, trust me. Don't be afraid.
Matter of fact, look at your dollar bills, white history exchanges hands everyday.

Jacob in ME2 is a great character.

I thought Drebin was a great character considering a Japanese dev created him. To be fair, Kojima has always been fair with his depictions of African Americans. Can't say the same about the rest of japan. Afro men with birds nesting in their hair. Boxers with enormous lips..etc.

I thought CJ from GTA was a good character as well. Let's not pretend like R* cooked up this version of black people as if you've never seen people like CJ. I grew up with dudes like CJ in my neighborhood complete with random shootouts, hookers, and corrupt cops. You can't expect every portrayal of Blacks to be Louis from L4D. People like CJ are real...

which leads me to...

Cole Train from Gears. It's the future, and you have most minorities being portrayed as warriors. Kim, Dom, Tai...and then there's Cole being portrayed as a negro from the late 80's. Kim's not a ninja. Dom isn't from the Barrio, nor is he a gang banger. Tai not an Indian and he doesn't even use a torque bow. Cole is the only minority that's a stereotype.

This might have nothing to do with it but I think the only original depiction of African American in games I've played was Shinobu in No More Heroes .......

I’d love to know how many units have been sold of all the Final Fantasy VII franchise games, including the original, the remakes, spin offs such as Crisis Core, and mobile games Ever Crisis. I bet a fair few copies.

If you already own it... There, I saved you the click on a deliberately misleading article.

DivineHand125104d ago

I bought the game yesterday on steam for $4 because Square Enix is trying to replace it with a version that has no mod support.

Prior to yesterday, I had no idea the game had so many great mods until people started making a fuss out of it.

Knightofelemia104d ago

You can thank FF7 scaring Baldur's Gate 2's director 'S***less' for every RPG since

But BG2 didn't emerge in a vacuum, and in a recent chat with Slandered Gaming it emerged that—while we can thank BG2 for a lot of our favourite RPGs since—we have a whole other game to thank for BG2. That'd be Final Fantasy 7, which lit a fire under BG2 director James Ohlen to go all out with the game's structure and companions, per Trent Oster—who worked on the original Baldur's Gate and has since become CEO of Beamdog, the studio behind the BG1 and BG2 Enhanced Editions.
