Which platform has the worst behaved gamers?

Online gamers have a reputation for being annoying jerks, but which platform has the most annoying jerks? Cheat Code Central uses science to compare the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms.

Anyone know if XBL's community has gotten any better? They did set the - low - standard.

Can't really speak for PSN, but I still run into grifers on Warhawk when I play.

It probably depends on the game. MW3 has by far most of the @ssholes, but my Gears of War 3 experience has been very good.

Of course the normal trash talk between teams still happen.

That said, it's very easy to mute people.

I hate it when I can't talk to people and get a proper team that communicates. My entire friend list comprises mostly of people that have mics and if I never hear them talk I would never know them enough to add to my friends list....

***They did set the - low - standard.***

According to this article, the low standard has now been lowered by other platforms, sadly.

I personally wouldn't know since I only hear and talk with my friends using private and party chat on Xbox Live, meaning I have a choice of what my ears hear, besides muting people.

I have recently aquired a 360 (last Wednesday my friend got the slim so gave me his old one) and I must say that in the 3 years of time I've been on PSN I have never heard so many children screaming at me and telling me how to play the game (This is gears, MW2/3 and Battlefield 3).

I mean there are kids on PS3, sure, but they're nowhere near as bad. However they are also a lot harder to tame and kids on XBL will either shut up if you snap at them or get cheeky and "threaten" you.

There's also the idea that in my 3 years of PSN I have never received a message asking me to join an infection/challenge/boosting lobby for CoD, but I have received 5 within the 4 days I've been on LIVE.

Very different communities, definetely.

I can't speak for PC but from when I've been round friend's and played Starcraft 2 and the like, they seem cool and mature. It's just dangerous to mix them with console-goers.

mute them from there profile, problem solved

What kind of gamers are you hanging out with?

I play on Xbox Live a lot, and I get nowhere near what you claim in the amount of time.

PirateThom5213d ago

Yeah, honestly, that's pretty unlucky.

I've had amazing experiences on both consoles and also some terrible experiences.

I think online communities are like any community, they have good and bad parts and it's just important to find the good parts and get a good list of friends to play with so you're not going into games full of idiots.

The headset with every 360 is the only reason kids are, probably, more vocal, but there's been pretty awful things on PSN. I once got into a game in the U3 Beta and there was this kid giving everyone abuse and everyone on both teams responded by shutting him out of the game, basically, not assisting him on one side and making him a target on the other. Good times.

N4G has the worst behaved gamers.

SpitTake5213d ago

I would say the xbox live is the worse cause all the 10 years flock to there cause of CoD and Madden and all that shit, and when you get on line you just hear a bunch of kids screaming.

Thought offline i would say the Ps3 fans are the worse because they are just so annoying

smashcrashbash5213d ago (Edited 5213d ago )

No, 360 gamers are equally annoying online and in person.I once sat there listening to 4 guys play Halo 4 and they were the most obnoxious people i ever heard. I don't usually hear that kind of crap from people playing Wii or a PS3.

aPerson5213d ago

"I once sat there listening to 4 guys play Halo 4"

I knew it... You're from the future, aren't you?

StrongMan5213d ago

The one that includes a cheap flimsy headset mic for ALL of the 12 year olds to use.

SnakeCQC5213d ago

i think its any platform with call of duty

ScytheX35213d ago

XBL imo though all platforms have their fair share of annoying ppl but id say but larger percentage xbl, think the least is PC gamers cause kids that play on pc (non flash games) online are pretty rare its usually mid late teen and adults on pc.

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman26d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
