Touch Arcade: The just-released Paper Monsters [99¢], co-developed by Robots Vs Wizards and Crescent Moon Games, has been in the works for a long time. In fact, development originally began way back in mid-2010, and we didn’t learn until well into 2011 that Crescent Moon had actually jumped into the project to give it a graphical makeover (as they’ve been known to do from time to time).
Pocket Gamer: Paper Monsters Recut has a rather unusual history. It's a mobile port of a console port of mobile game.
Carl Williams writes, "Retro gamers are usually left out of the fun when it comes to newer platforms, most companies don’t see any value in catering to this niche market. In this new article, Retro Gaming Magazine will take a look at a collection of games that cater to a different area of retro gaming. Starting the festivities off is the “action” category which encompasses titles such as Sonic, Mario and more. Devices with physical buttons are obviously the choice of play with these games."
Publisher Crescent Moon Games has stated they did not authorize the sale of Paper Monsters on Steam and that no one should purchase it. According to the game's page, the publisher is listed as Strategy First instead of Crescent Moon Games.
