Twisted Metal Multiplayer Preview Video: Nuke Mode With David Jaffe

Morgan Webb got to sit down with Twisted Metal Co-Director David Jaffe and talk all about the upcoming racer's multiplayer modes. All in all there will be seven multiplayer modes in the game, ranging from your typical deathmatch to team based and class based modes, all the way to the super special Nuke mode that's being shown off in detail in the video below.

RXL5234d ago

am i the only lazy one when it says enter your age, i only change the year?

Koelbox5234d ago (Edited 5234d ago )

Nope you're not alone, or alot of people are born on Jan 1st.

Edit: They should just make two buttons: 18 or older? YES or NO

Legionaire20055234d ago

to be honest that age system is just stupid cause anybody even a kid could say he or is 18 to watch the video.

peowpeow5234d ago

Must be a legality thing. But the YES or NO buttons normally should suffice 3:

PshycoNinja5234d ago

Nope your not the only one lol.

cr33ping_death5234d ago

Hufandpuf5234d ago

I thought I was the only time traveler!

soundslike5234d ago

Anybody who's played this at a trade show know anything about what framerate its running on?

lorianguy5234d ago

Could someone just answer a question for me please?

Is Twisted Metal in anyway similar to Vigilante 8? I can honestly say I'm new to Twisted Metal and would like to know :)

Thanks!

soundslike5234d ago

Vigilante 8 wouldn't exist without Twisted Metal

there are some differences, but overall, they are pretty damn similar

lorianguy5234d ago

Great! Thanks :)

Seeing as Vigilante 8 is one of my favorite game series of all time, I'll definitely be picking up Twisted Metal. I'll have to play the original too, if as you say, it was what Vigilante 8 was based on.

Thanks again!

Wow cyberpunk is a great pick up. If you haven’t played it you should definitely give it a try

Christopher324d ago

Banishers was dragged down by the need to go back to old areas multiple times.

GhostScholar325d ago

Also if you bought it at launch and couldn’t deal with all the bugs it’s a totally different game now

stupidusername325d ago

Played it on release and thought it was a mess. But I'm currently playing it again now on both PS5 and Switch 2 with cross save progression, and it's really different to how I remember it. Really enjoying it now, and it's really polished and immersive.

darthv72325d ago

Despite owning the 2077 One X console and the steelbook edition of the game... i still have never played it. I may actually give 2077 a try (via the portal) as there has been so much talk about it again, thanks to SW2 and now this comparison vid from DF. https://youtu.be/SvGQik3m6a...

dveio325d ago (Edited 325d ago )

I think it's an okay decision or happening.

iirc, wasn't there even a new and probably last update coming soon announced recently?

I've never played 2077, neither. (I am still a bit mad about their ... well, anyway.)

But I think it can't get better to play that game, or any game for that matter, in a 100% complete, fully updated build.

DivineHand125325d ago

Cyberpunk and Risk of rain 2 are the best of the bunch. Not a bad month if you are one of the few that haven't played those games.

yeastori325d ago

Cyberpunk is probably one of the best games I've ever played, even when it came out with all the bugs and glitches and broken gameplay on consoles, I still loved it at its core because the world was exactly what I wanted in a dystopian vision of the real future and the story was actually well done and compelling. With the fixes and then Phantom Liberty I just knew that this game could've been GOTY winner if it hadn't been released too early and released on PS5. XBX and two years later.

shinXseijuro325d ago

Might give cyberpunk a chance now that the game redeemed itself . Is it only the basic game or with the newer content ?

xHeavYx325d ago

According to the article, it's just the base game, but the DLC will be 30% off

TM3 is my favorite but I'll take what they bring out gladly. Fun times back in the day and great soundtracks

Cacabunga607d ago

Last one on ps4 wasn’t good at all.
Hoping for some good reboot or remake of the first 3

Dagexon607d ago

You mean the one on ps3?

Cacabunga606d ago

Yes i do, thanks! I realized too late couldn’t edit

Lego 2K Drive features an exciting mode called Brick Brawl, inspired by Twisted Metal. Players can create, share, and upload various cars, including ones like Sweet Tooth. The game boasts thousands of custom cars, ranging from the Batmobile to the Sweet Tooth ice cream truck.

InUrFoxHole607d ago

Never understood the like for the series. Not my bag but I know a lot of gamers are clamoring for a new game and liked the TV. Series

TiredGamer607d ago (Edited 607d ago )

TM1 and 2 are time period classics. They were a bit rough, ugly, and grungy, but they felt right during the time period they were released and they scratched that early console “death match” itch before FPS games would completely swallow that market.

Many great memories with friends playing couch co-op and 1v1. Short, and quick-and-dirty gameplay that we returned to over and over. I’d buy a remake or proper remastering of the first two games day one.

InUrFoxHole607d ago

Lol, nice! I remember having the tiger handheld or watch..

FinalFantasyFanatic606d ago

I played those so much as I kid, I bought the Twisted Metal games that were on PSN as Playstation Classics, wow, they feel clunky by today's standards, they could really use the remake/remaster treatment.

UltimateOwnage607d ago

Twisted Metal: Black is when the series really hit for me. I still love that game so much. It was kind of downhill for the series after that IMO. I'd love to see the series go back to its roots, but I don't hold out a lot of hope for David Jaffe coming back from where he is these days to oversee development of a competent sequel.

Snookies12607d ago

Black was the pinnacle in my opinion. I adored TM1 and TM2, for sure. But Black brought it to a whole new level of awesome.
