how come we never see these articles for the next xbox?

Here's my top 10 list.

1. Have the price lower than $500, preferably around $400.
2. Redesign the Dualshock. The sticks are way too loose and the triggers or bumper buttons are not the greatest. Have the Move functionality built in.
3. Improve the disk read speeds.
4. Have the option of full installs from the disk.
5. Improve PSN options including voice chat that can work outside of the game for better cross media chat.
6. Make games mandatory at true 1080p resolution and standard 60FPS.
7. Backwards compatibility.
8. True integration with Vita and allow Vita to act as a separate controller.
9. Better update and patch process through PSN. We shouldn't have to sit there and download updates right after we download a demo for example. Background updates should also be implemented and standard for all users. Background downloading should also be improved.
10. Last and certainly not least, find a way to remove the rabid fanbase that continues to make all Playstation owners look bad. There's a huge difference between being a supporter and a complete idiot who acts like a loyal slave. Impossible I know but certainly needed.

GET RID OF THE JAGGIES ALREADY!!!! for u old school and sum new school sony people, u know wht im talking about. Even if u cant get the game sumwhat beautiful, then atleast run it at 60FPS!!! With native 1080p! Wii U, need i say more...

my only beef with 360 controler is the left anolog stick cramps my left hand greatly if it was at the same position as the ps3 it would be perfect. id say they should add that hard carpet that i seen in the imitation ps3 controler using the scheme of the xbox.

Please keep the online gaming free.... More integration with Steam.... No MS proprietary crap either. I want to be able to upgrade my PS4 with standard harddrives...not Sony only HDs.

I've mentioned it before and i'll mention it again, the number 1 thing i want is more memory in the OS. (Like 512mb or even 1GB)

Also an overhaul of the XMB wouldn't hurt, they should hire the guys that designed VidZone 2.0 and make it similar to that.

among many things, i wish they add support for many video formats, like mkvs. i buy a lot of blu-rays, but it happens i download an old title on mkv format.

they didn't do it for ps3, and i bet millions of people didn't buy the console, because it wasn't the ultimate media player it should have been. no mkv format just made people buying other things, like media players, blu-ray players with mkv support, etc.

maybe it was about pride, not supporting play functions for their own blu-ray rips, but many people bought samsung, philips, and other brands blu-ray players, which supported mkv.

i myself had to build a nano itx system, totally silent, that could read mkvs.

come on, sony, if you don't give people that functionality, other manufacturers will do it.

just give people a ps4 capable of reading any audio-video format, including mkv. add sacd and pure audio blu-ray as well.

make a system that will only eat a couple of watts, when doing small tasks: take the ps3, is it really necessary to have all the spus and main cpu working at full speed, along with the graphic chip, etc, ONLY to run a mp3 ?

if a 15$ dvd player can read a divx or a dvd and decode a 7.1 dts flow, how much power is it needed, to play the same stuff, on the ps3 ? maybe a single SPU, at 10% of the speed would be enough for playing a divx-mp3, while keeping the system "alive", checking who's online, for example.

i wish ps4 will feature something like that, for saving power, when doing small tasks, like i said above.

or, at least, just use the huge power of ps4, when idle, to make interesting stuff for people, like seti, etc.

for example, sony could make some movies, like shrek, toy story, etc, in a 4k or 8k resolution, with crazy raytracing stuff, and make our consoles calculate small portions of that movie, when idle or playing a mp3.

we won't be talking about the gigaflops of the ps3, anymore. ps4 will , for sure, be an huge supercalculator(ok, only God and Sony knows how it will be like, but we should expect a GPU 5-10 times faster than rsx, with many cores/sli , and CPU should be at least 4-5 times more powerfull than actual cell), which makes a incredible powerful calculating system.

how many hours did we leave our ps3, playing music, downloading a demo, or turned on, during hours an hours ? countless, right.

with the ps4, all that idle time could be used, once again, not for 4k or 8k movies, but, well, some research, cancer, etc.

we could imagine some companies buying "calculation time", like they would do with a blu-gen, or other super computer.

for example, if you accept giving your ps4 power when it's idle, or doing small tasks, that would make a huge cluster, that Sony could sell to companies. this money, a part would go to sony, like 50%, and the money left, it would go to people who accepted to give their ps4 power. for example, one hour calculation would give you 10 points. with 100 points, it would give you 1$, that you could spend on the whole PSN.

with this, companies would be able do discover another drugs, proteins, etc, other companies could analyse stuff, decrypt things, etc, with almost infinite power. our consoles wouldn't be left idle anymore, while on, and we could earn money to spend on the psn. everybody wins. ok, hardware would work a little bit more, but hey, it's already the case when you are playing a mp3.

i wish ps4 could serve as a nas. attach a big hd to it, share stuff, create users, change users and permissions, etc etc. on a local network, this could be cool. imagine unraring or unzipping a file, using ps4 power ? a 700mb compressed file would take a few seconds to decompress, once the file is copied to ram. imagine accessing your ps4 content from all over the world, using your phone, psvita, sony tvs, etc(maybe it's already working, for phones)

a ps4 as a web server, for managing databases ? how good would it's i/o operations be ?

i want to watch tv on the ps4, and save files, some kind of playtv, with enhanced content, tvguide, etc.

for me, dualshock3 is almost perfect, but triggers, man, i don't like them a lot. in some games, where you need to altern r1-r2, my fingers keep sliding. one good example, psn Joe Danger, where you need to press all the triggers at the same time, to move, crouch, jump, etc, it's really difficult, and that detail made me stop playing, at about 20% done. sony really needs to change those triggers, and make them curved, well, like xbox, right ?

- show me dualshock power left, in hours, not in bars. one bar left, you forget to recharge, and you can't play during a moment.
it should be easy to approximately show the minutes left, at least, 10-20-30minutes, etc..

yeah, keep psn free. this made many people buy a ps3, don't be greedy like.. you know who.

bring back mickey, donald, and many other characters. look at rayman, it was wonderful. so many games could be done using old but well known characters.

- make streets of rage like games.
- make shoot them ups, like hummerstur.... the final prototype, for psn. or like thunderforce, on old genesis.

give us ps2 support. ps4 should be powerful enough to emulate a reality engine or whatever processor from 10 years ago.

and keep what you've been doing with games sony, new, original ip's, great exclusives, but bring on some more games like demons souls and quirky japanesse games!

The thing that really need to be fixed is like what is written to keep the Ps4 cooler then the ps3.I believe what makes the ps3 have problems is the dusts and the heating issues.

Could? Strange how prices rise for virtually everything we buy, yet when things settle down, prices don't come down. This has been happening in the UK probably before I was born. With that, how much is a next gen console going to cost? Look at the price of the PlayStation 5 Pro, which has been a flop for Sony. On that note, we don't need the next consoles for another 5 years.

I guarantee if people just stopped buying this kinda stuff all together. This would all be sorted within 2 weeks and everything would be back to normal.

We seen the exact same thing through the COVID period. Companies just jumped on the bandwagon realising that they can get away with charging far more under false pretences and fear mongering.

Consumers now have this fear of "you know what, I only live once. I'm going to spend all this money I earned through my hard work" Or "I only live once I'm going to take a loan out and enjoy my time here".

Silicone Valley spends literally billions of dollars researching how much they can push society to the limits to increase spending. You can research it yourself. There's published written documentation about it. Have a look for yourself into their group research into subscription programs to see how evil they are and why it's such a giant focus of current civilization. Its the very essence of corporate capitalism.

Just delay all new consoles. I could easily go another 5 years with my base PS5.
