I'm trying to play through Mass Effect 2 again but I'm having a hard time finishing it. I'm not enjoying it despite the fact that I loved it when I finished it for the first time. I'm not that hyped for the third game. I hope my hype increase as we approach the game release.

RedDead5243d ago (Edited 5243d ago )

I couldn't finished ME2 the first time I played it. I found it repetitive.

I got it here again on PC this time but I just can't be bothered.

zeal0us5243d ago (Edited 5243d ago )

I have beaten ME1 at least 6 times or more.
I have beaten ME2 at least 3 times or more.

ME1 was way more repetitive to me, especially going to almost each and every planet search for resources, tags, markings and doing mini missions.

What make ME2 felt somewhat repetitive was the dull planet scanning and refueling. I felt like Bioware toss the game over at Epic with all the ducking/ covering, ammo and limited amount of weapons to choose from. I still enjoyed the game but it didn't quite feel like the game I fell in love with.

Almost remind me of going from DA:Origins to DA2...well that actually felt worse compared to going from ME1 to ME2.

Also its a RPG its bound to be repetitive somewhere down the line.

ME2 sucked, thats why. and ME3 will be a disappointment once again. EA ruined Bioware...

LAWSON725242d ago

That's how me2 was for me too. Hopefully, me3 will be alot better I really enjoyed the leaked beta but it was very similar to 2.

Megaton5243d ago (Edited 5243d ago )

Hey, someone actually posted new details in a submission claiming it had new details. Surprising. Some of that stuff actually sounds pretty good.

I was concerned about whether or not things would have like... an unspoken timer because of the invasion. I don't like playing under a timer.

snipes1015242d ago

I was wondering how that would work too. But it would totally defeat the idea of an RPG, a genre that, by nature, is meant to encourage exploration.

I just hope they bring back more of the gear and skill trees from the first game.

Basjohn5242d ago

Sadly some RPGs have done this. One of the expansions to NWN2 had you constantly degrading (especially with rest) and required you to progress to "unprogress" your character's health condition. But you're right though, it ruined that game for me as I couldn't even experience half the world before running ahead to cure myself in a panic. (Breath of Fire on PS2 also did this but to a somewhat lesser degree)

freddy prince JR ? damn i havent seen him since like 2001 he got old! anyways i cant wait for this game feels like 2008 all over again with MGS4

Pintheshadows5243d ago

Even though I know it's not him every time I hear the name Freddy Prince jr I picture Cuba Gooding jr' face.

Danniel15242d ago

I always picture Robert Downey jr!

pr0digyZA5242d ago

I like the fact that he seems quite genuine in his enthusiasm for the game. Cant wait to get this game.

Drazz5243d ago

Cant wait to see a reaper up close!

Godmars2905243d ago

Have to ask why exactly when you've already been inside one.

And while its obvious that they come in different sizes, all you're going to be doing is setting one up for something else to take it down.

Drazz5243d ago

Up close and alive. U don't know whats gonna happen, Debbie Downer. I bet yor fun at parties...

I know one exciting detail of Mass Effect 3: There's a possibility that might result like what happened to Dragon Age 2.

Blacktric5243d ago (Edited 5243d ago )

Joined 35 days ago and have no idea what is he talking about. Typical. Mass Effect was an action-RPG to begin with. It wasn't an old school RPG game like Dragon Age: Origins which got massively dumbed down into an action game with RPG elements just because they wanted more sales while Mass Effect already had plenty of action elements to begin with. Granted, they might've "streamlined" certain stuff in Mass Effect 2 but that doesn't mean they're going to do the exact same thing again for ME 3 and make it worse. They said this tons of times already, customization options are expanded and looting and inventory system is back along with upgradable weapons. So calm down and at least wait for the game's release before crying about how dumbed down it'll be.

Lord_Sloth5243d ago

Honestly I'd say DA2 got dumbed down to the point of no longer belonging to any genre. Most action games have at least SOME level of depth.

Aloren5243d ago

@Lord_Sloth that's ridiculous.
DA2 still felt very much like Origins and was also far more worthy of the "RPG" title than games like Fable or even most JRPGs.

LAWSON725242d ago

That has already happened with me2.

anast537d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine537d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast537d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman537d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast537d ago

He was one of my least favorite characters. I wish they would have done the Proths different.
