With the 360 having the highest games attach rate Microsoft has an edge when it comes to bargaining power for exclusives. Since games producers will see high profit margins on 360 games development.

There was a press release not too long ago that EA made half of their revenue on 360 game development.

A lot of people think that there is some type of loyalty from 3rd party developers. But in the end it is all about profit margins. If companies don't see a return on there investment they go out of business.

I doubt they would be handing out publishing rights to their games, to Microsoft anytime soon. And it really makes little sense for EA to own Bioware, if they can't make tons of money off their game.

You would have to be a fool not to think MSFT wouldn't have tried to do everything in their power to keep this series on the XBOX.

Ther was a post not too long ago with news on MSFT/EA/BIOWARE talks that was suppose to take place a few weeks after the BIOWARE EA buyout.

If this is true this won't hurt EA at all due to the fact they are getting boat loads of money for the deal made. The fame will make worlds of difference for EA's rep. Plus they pick up a quality studio not to mention the attach rate for good games is high and written in stone on the XBOX platform. It was a gamble Peter Moore and friends made to milk money from MSFT.

They need to better market all their future games. MSFT has piss poor far reaching maimstream marketing their arrogance can come back to bit them in the ass.

I wouldnt mind mass effect coming over to the ps3 we will welcome it but since its not EA developing it then we may buy it.

Mass Effect is easily my one of my favourite games this year and the game that justifies my purchase of a 360. I love it! and the nexy ones cant come soon enough! Lets just hope that even if EA get it they dont ruin it (chances of them getting it right arent good though. Stupid EA)

This is great news for both Bioware and Xbox 360. Mass Effect has proven to be a hit new IP on the Xbox 360, with over 1 million copies sold already. This is yet another successful game on the Xbox 360, unlike the PS3 which has had all its new IP's bomb in the past 12 months thanks to poor software and hardware sales.

I doubt EA will have anything to do with development. If anything, they'll send a few people to Bioware to learn the ropes. Or the label will be something like EA Bioware or something stupid. Just like you see 3 labels in the start up sequence of a game.

Those companies rely on third party developers to get more people to buy there systems and make them money. Nintendo is the only company that makes all there good games in house. I dont own any non-nintendo Wii games, not sure about the rest of you.

However, EA owes Microsoft nothing, and if Microsoft wants to keep that game exclusive than they will be paying a pretty penny for it, as Bioware/EA now owns all the rights to it. Frankly I dont give a damn, I own all the systems, so just give me good games.

This is not to say EA won't make a spinoff for PS3 from the ME universe ..... Bioware does have other games they are making !!!

But its just like Square-Enix to Xbox360.... FF13 versus spinoff for now due to a very nice deal

This game just passed a million, is there any PS3 game other than RFOM that sold over a million?

It's not that I don't want PS3 owners to have this game (I own one myself as well), but they'll need all the time and resources they can get to make ME 2&3 proper sequels on the 360 and make up for their "mistakes" with the first one.

Having to focus development on both the 360 and PS3 would most likely have a negative impact on the sequels.

Most of EA's profits came solely from the xbox 360.
EA have nothing to worry about. Bring on ME 2 & 3.
