History Channel Civil War announced...

That's right. The History Channel has decided to jump on the computer game bandwagon and create a War game. But before you click back, it's not the War we are now all so well accustomed too. And yes, that is the actual title of the game.

Very cool, but I wish they concentrated on a good war, like the one where the british and canadians beat the americans :) War of 1812.

Ahh yes those were the good old days when britain and canada had power, and america was a tiny little toddler not even 50 years into development.

Really, is that all you have to be proud of. Personally I like WW2 when america saved the world from hitler. That includes europe, africa, jews, russia(if we didn't go into europe the nazis only had concentrate on the soviets.)

Hey don't fret it

Well we still kicked your @ss down in New Orleans. Remember how the song goes:
"In 1814 we took a little trip
Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip.
We took a little bacon and we took a little beans
And we caught the bloody British in the town of New Orleans.

[Chorus:]
We fired our guns and the British kept a'comin.
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more and they began to runnin' on
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

We looked down the river and we see'd the British come.
And there must have been a hundred of'em beatin' on the drum.
They stepped so high and they made the bugles ring.
We stood by our cotton bales and didn't say a thing.

[Chorus]

Old Hickory said we could take 'em by surprise
If we didn't fire our muskets 'til we looked 'em in the eye
We held our fire 'til we see'd their faces well.
Then we opened up with squirrel guns and really gave 'em ... well

[Chorus]

Yeah, they ran through the briars and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go.
They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.**

We fired our cannon 'til the barrel melted down.
So we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round.
We filled his head with cannon balls, and powdered his behind
And when we touched the powder off, the gator lost his mind.

[Chorus]

Yeah, they ran through the briars and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go.
They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.**"

Anyways, learn your history. We didn't lose the war. No one did. The Treaty of Ghent established status quo antebellum. It was simply an exercise in pointlessness.
Actually that war does sound like it would make a good game. Maybe I just like the alligator cannon idea.

We burned down the White House August 24th, 1812. And also, Canada wasnt even a country back then, and the US tried to invade. We won the war because we successfully defended the country. Also at Fort Detroit, we took it without a fight ;) haha.

Of all the debates that I have seen unfold on this site, this is by far the most humorous. Im very interesting in this game. I like war games, and must admit that the World War games are getting a little old, but hey I like them so I play them.

shortly before Ghent, British forces attempted to invade from Canada but had their tails roundly kicked at the Battle of Plattsburg, including their entire fleet decimated. And interesting enough, said butt kicking was delivered unto British regulars by American Militia. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
