Nowadays, many MMOs are content to steal a few features from World of Warcraft, add a fresh coat of paint, and call it a day. Not Wakfu. This bizarre Japanese creation, a follow-up to the game Dofus that's coming to North America thanks to publisher Square Enix, offers a real alternative to MMO fans who want something different.
As most video game enthusiasts will attest, TV shows and other adaptations of video games are usually disappointing, if not completely terrible. One of the absolute best exceptions to this rule is Wakfu.
Wakfu has become one of a very few MMORPG’s with a true companion anime series, and in the case of Wakfu, the companion series actually runs alongside the game. Kelba Island was recently introduced in the anime, and players now have full access to the entirety of the bird infested landmass along with all of the adventures it has to offer.
