Worst carrier game I have ever played in my life. I destroyed my APC by driving up a ramp. Not to mention the AI killing my units, yet I can only pilot/command 1/4 of the units at a time.
Graphics was great I agree, but they seriously didn't think everything through on this "remake" aka "re-destroy"

Bohemia Interactive has released a brand new update for the Windows PC version of Carrier Command: Gaea Mission, which released in October last year.

They will be using the same game engine used for Arma III and the graphics will be OUTSTANDING!!
This is gonna be a HUGE complicated RTS game with lots of real-time combat and even First person or third person controls as well i think.
If they stick to the gameplay that made the first such a fantastic game then they cannot go wrong. My worry is they won't, but we will see what happens. Right now this is my most anticipated game to date.
I loved approaching an Island in the Carrier and sending the Manta's in first to soften up the defenses, then bombarding the island with the Carriers massive gun. This all led up to invading and conquering the island with a couple of Walrus vehicles. Ah I wasted hours of my teenage life in Carrier Command on the Amiga.
I was lucky enough to have a response from one of the 2 people that worked on the original game, and he said he was suitably impressed with how the concept had been extended in a way they were unable to with the tech back then. The impression i got was that he gets to see what the team is working on and i guess discussions have been plenty between them
There's always a danger of giving too much of something but i can imagine great things if this is handled correctly and it's promising hearing from the horse's mouth that things are looking good. Fingers crossed then
