Jennifer LeClaire of Newsfactor.com writes, "Move over AMD. Sony and Toshiba have bumped you off the top-10 list -- and Intel remains king of the chipmakers. According to iSuppli's preliminary 2007 global semiconductor market share estimate, Intel is the top of the heap. Intel's chip revenue is expected to rise 7.7 percent in 2007 to reach $33.97 billion, up from $31.5 billion in 2006."
"Intel exceeded the overall semiconductor industry growth rate of 4.1 percent in 2007 and massively outperformed its PC microprocessor rival AMD, whose sales are expected to decline by 22.7 percent for the year."

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
Unfortunate for AMD, considering they just merged with ATI to try and form some huge semiconductor conglomerate.
Too bad it's failing pretty badly in comparison with Intel.
I wonder if one day, to squish out AMD / ATI, Intel possibly might buy nVidia?
I think that would be the dagger to the heart of AMD /ATI.
their prices are cheaper, so why did they drop 22%?
this was really no surprise at all AMD current gen chips are really bad
the CELL pwns both...
I cant really take any 'journalism' that uses the 'word' pwns, serious.
