A single category wouldn't have influenced the final results. And how about Joe Danger being considered as 1st place for the 360 even though it's on PSN for ages?

Just admit it, PS3 has had a better year in terms of exclusive games and those are a huge factor when deciding these awards... They carry more weightage than integrating Twitter and Youtube apps in your Dashboards.

Out of the last 4 years PS3 has won these awards 3 times... Speaks of the quality of titles appearing on the Sony console or the lack off on the competitors...

Fair enough..didn't catch the Joe Danger (in fact I got to thank you and IGN for mentioning it. I would have slept on that title. Didn't realize the 'Trials' developer made it and the revamped it in HD with extra levels..looks like that's on my XBL must purchase list)

So by that standard..it owuld have gone to the Wii and RPG would still have gone to the 360. Doesnt change a thing.

As it is by IGN's standards...Xbox got 20 first place votes and the PS3 got 17..which in my opinion means they won.

I don't really want to get into the numbers game. The 360 might have more titles rated number 1 in a certain category, but some of the categories/games aren't even worth mentioning if you are a hardcore gamer (which I presume you are)... Games like Sesame street, Action(retro) titles like Silvergun or stupid tower defense games like Orc's must die winning a #1 in any category doesn't mean much especially when you have other major categories and games like Skyrim, Gears, UC3, BF3 etc...

For such awards, all sites look at the exclusive catalog and the PS3 catalog this year was second to none. LBP2, KZ3, Motostorm 3, Infamous 2, SOCOM4, ICO, SOTC,Resistance 3 and finally UC3 seals off the best exclusive line up not only for this year, but arguably for any year of this console generation.

And that is what most sites look at and that is why PS3 is sweeping the awards at IGN, Gametrailers and many other sites. People give more weightage to UC3 winning the best TPS than to Sesame Street winning the best family game... That is why the PS3 won.

I own a 360 and the only games I have played on it this year are LA NOIRE, gears 3 and Skyrim... Thats it.. Whereas on the PS3, I bought KZ3, Infamous 2, UC3, Resistance 3 and ICO collection... It's a total contrast to last year where I only bought GOW3 on the PS3 and bought many 360 exclusives... The really sad part was the absolute drought of games in the first half... I literally bought LA NOIRE on the 360 out of pity (since it was untouched for nearly 3 months) of lack of usage even though the PS3 version was superior!! MS really dropper the ball this year and am thoroughly disappointed. I don't care about the Kinect or Move crapware... Only hardcore games interest me.

Doesn't make any sense what you are saying. They are experts in their field in my opinion, we don't have to share it. That's ok.

But something doesn't always have to have an explanation as well. If they can't understand why it's happening they aren't lying about it. They honestly can admit that they do nut understand something, usually they reach out to that specific company etc. then to try and get a better understanding.

If you don't like em, don't watch em.

I didn't say I believe everything they are saying. I believe in them more than anyone else in this business because I feel they do not shy away from getting into specifics. Lot's of ppl just try to say something and then there's no source or no explanation as to why. Just saying it for reactions, clicks you name it.

These guys love the field they work in and I can feel that when I listen to them. That might be just for me but I enjoy them a lot.
