Beats: Play What Everyone's Talking About

In case you missed it, Beats came out for the PLAYSTATION Store for PC yesterday. It's getting great buzz from Kotaku, PSP Fanboy, Joystiq, and others. As you can see in the video on the Playstation Blog, it's a funky interactive music player that gives you a new way to interact with your personal music collection on a PSP.

It is an awesome game. For those who find that it misses some of the beats of the song you are listening to, play it on hard and extreme and you will see that it simply missed them to adjust for the difficulty levels.

It's great game. I can already see. But dang I gotta convert all my AAC files(yes I found a converter it's just taking a while to copy paste everything)

Btw, my first story! Sweet!

http://www.gamespot.com/use... <--- gameplay video :)

Did a beats review on my Gamespot account because GS does not even have it in the database yet when they know they should. Slacking since Jeff been gone or what?

I hear itunes converts aac to mp3. Have not tried yet I just grabed a few mp3's off http://www.mp3-center.org/d...

2 test beats out.

If it does, I can't figure it out, that's for sure.

Play it on hard/extreme and you will see that it matches to the music a lot better.

It's DDR/Guitar Hero type game on PSP. You hit buttons and the dpad as they scroll. Best part: You can use your own music.

from the feedback I'm seeing here, it looks like a must-buy!!??

It's a a great game if you got MP3 songs. DEFINITELY worth $5.
UNLIKE THIS STUPID CONVERTER.

VGC Review: Beats

VGC writes: "When Sony first launched the Playstation Store for the PSP they needed to produce titles that would prove that the portable could provide small scale and fun games for a low price. From that objective came Beats, a game that combines the two most used features on the PSP, gaming and music. For the low cost of five dollars, Beats morphs the music library stored on your memory stick into a traditional rhythm game."

Its a great game and deserves a lot more than its been given, and should definately be higher compared to some of those games listed.

Pretty damn good game. I see how this would get the top spot.

Yeah-good game that gives a decent challenge without holding your hand at all. It's funny that it should be so high in the d/l this month esp for me as I had to download it the other week as I'd nearly finished it completely and lost the UMD at Xmas-like a nob. And it seems evryone else must have got it on the strength of KZ2 that hadn't picked it up before.

I think uit's pretty underrated as well as being a really good PSP shooter-even if it's got one of the oddest perspectives I've ever seen, not really TPS or top down. I suppose it's a bit like the high angle in GTA CW on DS.

Patapon2 rocks too.

VGR: Playstation Network Collection: Power Pack (PSP) Review

VGR:

"Each game has its own strengths and weaknesses, but put together the Power Pack seems a bit lacking. Having to exit out of the game to change between them is just plain silly; although each game has their moments...the only one I remotely enjoyed was flOw for its quirkiness. Beats seems a bit dull and Syphon Filter Combat Ops gets old after a while, but flOw is the one that's unique, making it the best of the bunch. Should you get the Power Pack? Only if you've never played flOw, otherwise I'd skip it."
