"Of course, Apple could just continue to sit on the money, but if you were Steve Jobs what would you do with the $15 billion?"

The name Applecast isn't that bad...not bad at all...it's a better name than the Pippin...for those who don't know, the Pippin was the name of Apple's multimedia platform back in the mid 90's..according to Wikipedia, the goal was to create an inexpensive computer aimed mostly at playing CD-based multimedia titles, especially games, but also functioning as a network computer. Costing $599 at launch, and touted as a cheap computer, in reality, it was mostly identified as a video game console. As such, the price was considered too expensive compared to the N64 and Sony PlayStation, which dominated the competition...Apple and Sega could work together to create something special...bubbles up for mentioning it DuB...

apple should buy cisco(the router-network communications equipment company)..........if those 2 would merge, holy sh1t.

it would be like skynet from t2.

sony+samsung merger would be amazing too.

Didn't they buy parts of sega?

PS360WII6792d ago

Why not buy up some music catalogs. Then they could have them on iTunes exclusivly....

sorry for the inconvenience...

EDIT: It's baaaack...lol...everything working fine now...

They should just make their own console. I bet it would be pretty sweet. Much better than that garbage MS has come up with.

ShadoWulf6791d ago

Apple... doesn't really do games. I mean, you have noticed, have you? Windows does. Windows has for a while. I tend to doubt Apple could come up with anything comparable with current consoles NEXT generation. Games would be sparse too. All in all, it would probably start with an 'i' and be a total failure.

Remember Apple changed their name two years ago. Apple Computer, Inc. is now Apple, Inc. That's open them to anything. Like celphone, mp3 player...:)

But I hope they don't make touchscreen coffee table... that is useless...:)

Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.

Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.

Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.
