Personally I like game ads (not 'in-game' ads) they're a small reminder of my favourite pastime, which not only spark up a moment of joyous recollection but also act as a testament to how much gaming has grown since I was a young whippersnapper.
I agree that the bombardment of ads can be overwhelming, epscially at this time of year. I try to just 'tune them out'.
