
Mortal Kombat was my childhood. No, I didn’t live in some sadistic house of horrors, but I did spend a good deal of time at local arcades, loading up the MK coin-op with quarter after quarter. I thought those days were behind me.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

I do hope the next MK iteration goes back to the core of what made these characters appeal in the first place. A few of them lost their edge - I think I've had enough with some of the auntie designs 😂

Mortal Kombat is shit. nobody gives a damn about it at tournies, everybody's playing AE or MvC. because they're actually great competitive fighting games. MK never has been and never will be.
