When Did Blurry Images Become Teasers?

when blurry images became teasers.

Crazyglues5269d ago (Edited 5269d ago )

Yeah talk about lame, I mean what the hell are we suppose to be able to tell from that...

If that was suppose to get me excited about the game then you can just file this in your file cabinet under, "Epic Fail"

It's a teaser. It got people talking and guessing. It did its job

MidnytRain5269d ago

-Alpha

It's still lame. No one seems to know what is.

theonlylolking5269d ago

Teasers never reveal a big part or any part of the game. This did a good job as a teaser. You can make out a little bit of stuff and since you cannot tell what it is fully it gets peeps talking about it.(like alpha said)

SilentNegotiator5268d ago (Edited 5268d ago )

This is like Apple "teasing" its next iPad by throwing it into a bucket of diarrhea and leaking pictures of the bucket.

It teases in the sense of "Haha, you can't see it!", but it doesn't actually tease ANYTHING about the game at all. It doesn't make me interested in what I'm missing out on, and it doesn't make me want more (since there's no substance to begin with).

It would have the same effect on me if they released a "screenshot" that was just a blank white picture.

What if the whole game looks like that? I suppose it would count as a teaser then, right? My assumption is that the whole game will be blurry.

And to answer your question, when creativity expired.

vector4155269d ago

Yeah it makes no sense. At least make it so we can decipher something from the image, otherwise, it is 100% pointless and just irateness people.

Riggans425269d ago

I agree...there's no point to releasing this photo. It's a cheap attempt to get their name back into the news.

SweatyFlorida5269d ago (Edited 5269d ago )

Agreed. The thing is too blurry to make out ANYTHING. I remember their first teaser they showed, people went as far as saying they see a "Lockness monster" in the teaser xD (when broken down most made out a farm/station/building.) When your teasers are that bad then you know your doing something wrong, and in this case, Respawn hasn't figured that out yet.

I think Respawn needs some teaser tips from Naughty Dog xD (The Last of Us)

Riggans425269d ago

I couldn't agree more. The Last of Us did it the right way.

lifesanrpg5269d ago

There's been a lot of things this year that have made me question the video game marketing strategies of late.

Paragon5269d ago

It's kinda sad, because... Well, you can't decypher anything from the teaser, thus... Nobody's excited over it. Well, most people aren't.

Release a clear image with a cool phrase, and then we are talking.

DarkBlade46585269d ago

Exactly, I can hardly get excited over this, when it could literally be anything, though the fact that it is made by ex-infinity ward people is probably already saying a lot.

Rolling the Dice: Do Modern RPGs Miss the Point of Team-Based Play?

It seems it was long time ago. A bunch of friends spending hours on end playing RPG games, sitting around the table with the box of cold pizza. Excited about the story, listening to the Game Master, they were completely engaged in the worlds only visible to them and their imaginations.

The GM is the programmer, and in MMOs and co-ops, you can play with others. If you want to ONLY use your imagination for the visuals, read a book.

1) Hope they put it on disc this time.
2) Hope this is a positive for Neptune coming over as well.

Demons Souls5830d ago

If so, that's being developed & published by Idea Factory. Compile Heart has nothing to do with it (Thank God for that).

Godmars2905830d ago (Edited 5830d ago )

Thought Compile Heart was one of the companies lending characters.

Was also speaking in general as in regards to a US of Neptune. If these guys are offing a second game, NIS or Atlus, both of whom offer quirkier titles, will put that one out.

@kagon01:
My issue isn't - wholly - with the DL-only option, but the price. The first game should be $30. Maybe $40, and by that I mean $39.99. The only reason its $45 is the 360 disc version which has extras. Nevermind that by all rights its a PS2 game. Something that proabbly could have been done if the devs had the GOW2 engine or tools.

ClownBelt5830d ago

I approve of this god damn message.

Could have gotten my 60 bucks if they just put it on a disc.

Another exclusive damnn the ps3 keeps on rollin wit games awesome ;)

Jack-Pyro5830d ago

Is this a half decent SRPG, porn aside, cause if it is, i might just decide to go and buy it for the 360.

Anon73495830d ago

There's no porn just some sexual innuendos but that's it.

Also it is a great game by itself, maybe not graphically but everything else is top tier.

RedDevils5830d ago

so it had some kind of "top tier" porn story jk

ThanatosDMC5830d ago

Yup, it's a decent game. I just hate that a move has to go first before any attack options.
