since when: Diablo, RE: operation raccoon, darkness, dead rising are horror games?

UGH, I know exactly what you mean. While we're at it--Fortnite, Resident Evil: Revelations, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Silent Hill, Amy, The Secret World, Alan Wake, and The Last of Us aren't horror either. Whatever happened to the good old days when it was obvious what was horror and what wasn't? Everything should be black and white, there shouldn't be any mixing of the genres.

I mean that horror games have to be scary.. I don't care if it is mixed genre or not..

I've always found the Silent Hill games to be pretty damn scary. Especially when playing alone in the dark at 2am...

Sorry, but... There aren't many REAL horror games these days, we've got Fear, which number 3 kinda shafted horror in favor of shooting sequences (quite disappointing). Then there's Condemned... Siren Blood Curse was good as well though hard to control. The point is, I don't see any of those games as Horror games. I miss the days of old Resident Evil, where things were actually scary.
Have developers really lost the ability to make a scary game? What's so hard about it? Dead Space was kind of creepy as well, but they just don't make them like they used to. :\

But that's just it, what's scary and what isn't is relative to the person playing the game. I could find Barbie's Horse Adventures scary, making it a horror game to me, while someone else could be scared by Dead Rising. It's all relative.

When it comes to horror (what i'd consider horror) I'm looking forward to Afterfall: Insanity, Amy, The Last of Us, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Silent Hill HD Collection, Silent Hill: Downpour, Yakuza: Dead Souls

Seeing as The Last Of Us is ND's first M rated game, I really hope they push the rating to the limit. I don't wanna see a bunch of gore; I want tense, quiet moments where you barely get a glimpse at some disturbing creature that turns a corner, and you follow it only to find nothing there, then when you turn around... nothing. You're suddenly like, where the F**K did it go?!

It's the moments of suspense that win me over with the horror genre. Not the action moments or actually seeing the monsters coming at you. The true terror is all in that blurry glimpse of the monster running around that corner.
