"For the past twenty years, the Grandfather of video gaming has always been top dog, there was no stopping them, they defined your childhood but now, Nintendo is up against two of its most fearsome competitors, Xbox and PlayStation. Nintendo clearly lack what the other two have, making Nintendo more of a gimmick rather than a serious business. What does the future hold for Nintendo? With a disappointing but not disastrous financial loss so far this year of £580 million compared to Xbox’s £470 million loss and Play Stations £123 million loss, Nintendo are becoming the underdogs. The 3DS, got off to a shaky start with almost an extortionate price and very few games got fans seriously worried about the future of the business. Nintendo however, aren’t worried about poor sales right now because their innovations have paved the way for them to do whatever the hell they want and keep us Mmm’ing and Ahhh’ing for a while longer."

The rejection is non-final (and even when such rejections are labeled as “final”, the process is far from over, given that there can be, at minimum, an appeal to the Federal Circuit).
Good, as they should! A game mechanic like that shouldn't be locked behind a patent, and Nintendo didn't invent it either.
Nintendo wants to keep wasting money on bullshit lawsuits, real smart in this economy. They should put that money aside for other game projects. On the other hand, I don't care if they waste it all either, and they are screwed in the future maybe that will teach them a lesson.

Nintendo completed its share repurchase and set its secondary offering price at 8,347 yen ahead of March 16 delivery.

Nintendo filed a lawsuit in the United States Court of International Trade.
Nintendo of America is suing the United States government over the sweeping tariffs President Donald Trump put in place last year, according to a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. Court of International Trade and obtained by Aftermath.
LOL I read this on gaff, will they refund the money back to the gamers? highly unlikely. Didn't they just raise prices and pass it onto the gamers? Only Nintendo would send out the Ninjas to the US government.
The people should sue these companies for having to over pay cause of these tariffs.
They are the only ones that truly innovate and revived the video game industry in the 80s yet they are a generation or two behind.
nintendo is now more of a console for casuals and kids, while the other two are for core gamers.
I'm happy with Nintendo, they just gave me Super Mario 3D Land, and Mario Kart 7. Now i just need Pokemon Gray 3DS, Kingdom Hearts 3D, Kid Icarus: Uprising, and MGS: Snake Eater 3D.
I foresee at least 5-10 titles per year for eternity for Mario, a Zelda every 2-4 years, A Metroid title shoveled onto another dev team because Nintendo couldn't be assed to make the series, an SSB title once per console launch, a Fire Emblem title not nearly as frequent as they should be, and more casual Tech Demos titles packaged with the system that every1 counts as an individual game sale for some reason and claims it's the best selling of all time, and no new IPs at all.
BEHOLD, I HAVE SEEN THE FUTURE!!!
