Ubisoft's ever elusive Beyond Good & Evil 2 will release on this generation of consoles, despite official noises that it's being held back for next-gen.

Insider Gaming - "Ubisoft has cancelled yet another game, this time ending development on the Animal Crossing-inspired title Alterra."

HALIFAX (April 14, 2026) – Laid-off Ubisoft workers in Halifax have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a settlement with the video-game giant. The terms of the settlement, including the compensation employees will receive, is confidential.
I can't sit here and act like I know these workers financial situations. And I'm sure nobody wakes up WANTING to go to court. But for the sake of the industry, I wish some of these types of cases made it to trial.
Settlements allow companies to continue to do whatever abusive practices they do. While the trials (should the company lose) would actually force real changes for the better.
But again, I'm not in these workers shoes and I can understand them not wanting to risk it.

Two-day event includes exclusive reveals, trailers and playable games on show floor.
"some sources are saying we'll see it this generation rather than next"
Sounds like every rumor, but hey, im still keeping an open mind. Im a big fan of BGE and would definitely love to see a proper sequel. I wish ubi would give us some clarification already though. BGE2 has been lingering around for a long time now with no real info.
Ubi is putting too many resources into AC. Everything else is taking a back seat to AC's annual release schedule. I Am Alive, Ghost Recon and BG&E 2 are suffering because if it.
Whenever it comes I just hope it's the exact same creative team behind it. The first was such an individual experience and clearly a work of passion. I'd rather not get another chapter to the story than get one tacked on by a randomly chosen writer.
I it were released on WiiU, I'd love to see the HD version ported. Was a great buy on XBLA..
it would be very nice ..I'm big fan of bg&e
