It looks like a metal gear solid type game. I wonder if it will be for the vita as well.

The graphics look good, but not PS3 good, but look great if they are for PS Vita.

Batzi5266d ago

Picture looks it has been taken off-screen so graphics can't be judged in this case. But yea still you can tell there are poor textures. But The Fox Engine was looking awesome when it was used on the old Rising's engine.

xX-StolenSoul-Xx5265d ago

It does look like MGS, I notice the soldier is sneaking.

Iroquois_Pliskin5265d ago

Could this be MGS: Outer Heaven (aka Peace Walker 2)?

nveenio5265d ago

Yeah, that's definitely low poly. Look at the wheel of the tank thingy. Not exciting...they should have kept it a secret. I'm not sure this will help raise hype.

crxss5265d ago (Edited 5265d ago )

supposedly MGS5 and Project Ogre are two different games... or are they... "!"

is the FOX engine finished? if they're still working on it then it could be for PS3, if not than this definitely looks like a Vita title

Grip5266d ago

wow the graphics look really bad. just look at the tire. i doubt this console game hell we can see far better than that in PS vita

zero_cool5265d ago

Well hideo kojima did say that the fox engine can run on the playstation vita.

P.S.So there's a pretty good chance that this game could be coming to playstation vita too!

Cheers Gamers & Happy Gaming!

turgore5265d ago

Most likely. The wheels don't seem to have enough polygons and the ground textures are average. The ps3 can do much better !

afterMoth5265d ago

MGS4 wasn't a graphical masterpiece by any means but this looks like a huge step down so I'm guessing it isn't a PS3 game.

afterMoth5265d ago (Edited 5265d ago )

I've learned there really is no point to arguing with a die hard Metal Gear fan but I'll just state my opinion. Artistically it is nice, but technically it isn't near the top. Textures, framerate, color palette, enemies on screen and other activity are minimal compared to other games. The sound design however is very good!

svoulis5265d ago

While I can agree to "todays" standards MGS4 isn't as amazing as it was when it came out. Do me a favor and show a console game with that much production value etc. that came out at the same time. Than I will agree with you.

Because no one can deny that MGS4 be it a MGS game or not, looked, sounded, and played fantastic.

RumbleFish5265d ago

Not only that. Show a second game on console, that runs so many things on screen and performs with 60fps.
MGS4 is still one of the best looking console games.
On topic: this screenshot is not impressive. What was shown when the FOX engine was introduced ran on PC. So I expect we can be looking forward to a graphical monster when Kojima does something on PC. It would not make sense for him to do another game on this gen's hardware. So I expect a multiplat title running on SONY's and M$'s next consoles and on PC as well.

I think it's almost certainly Vita.

tarbis5265d ago

for both PS3 and PSV with transfarring.

MasterCornholio5266d ago

It would be fair because Kojima already gave the 3DS an exclusive remake of Snake Eater. So a peacewalker for Vita would be great.

XperiaRay

r215266d ago

agreed, looks vita-ish.

Haunter_5266d ago

It's either MGS5 or the Vita+PS3 game Kojima said he was working on. Maybe MGS5 IS the Vita+PS3 game he talked about.

TronEOL5266d ago

Well this would make sense. He DID say Peace Walker was his team experimenting with new gameplay mechanics (micromanaging an army, Co-op, new CQC, better action gameplay, etc). And I hope to god they stick with it.

Peace Walker was easily one of the best games in the series, so it'd be nice if they didn't go back in time in regards to developments made so far.

I could also see many, many ways the Vita and PS3 could work together on a MGS:PW-style game. Either in-game uses (ie: Codec, micromanaging, calling for air support, using a map, etc without screen clutter), or separate uses (ie: playing as your hired soldiers while on the go doing small, side missions, while playing as the big guys and heavy story missions on PS3. All while sharing the loot between your entire army in the game).

Even with all these ideas, it's really nothing at this point. I'll be waiting for E3, or TGS, before getting too excited.

Slugg3r5266d ago

Would also be cool, that you could CO-OP with one playing on PS3 and one on Vita. Could be from one gamesave so that other one plays with Big Boss and other one with some recruited soldier.

BTW does anyone have any idea if this scenario will be possible in MGS HD collection when it hits Vita?

MrBeatdown5266d ago

It definitely looks like Metal Gear. Seems kind of strange that Kojima would move on from Metal Gear right to another military-style game that, by looking at that screenshot, could easily be mistaken for Metal Gear.

DaveMan5266d ago

Why would it be mgs 5 if he hasn't even started production on it? Kojima keeps talking about this new multiplatform ip he's doing. I'm guessing it might be this.

Getting to the point where I don't really care though. It's been almost 4 years since MGS 4 and we haven't gotten a new game since.

RedHotChiliPepaSpray5265d ago

yeah probably a different ip running on the same engine. or maybe something he hasnt told us about yet. doubt its mgs5 but could be MGS related

Batzi5266d ago

Kojima not so long ago confirmed that MGS5 is coming but that he and his team have no idea what it's gonna be like. So I don't think that screenshot has anything to do with MGS5. I think it is demonstrating the engine in some form or another.

Whitefox7895265d ago

He also made a comment about MGS5 in the truth about Rising interview where he was going to have the team do an MGS5 based on the Boss and the Cobra Unit at the invasion of Normandy though he felt that would've been too taxing on them. So he thought Rising would've been easier for them.

I think he'll bring that idea back up.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio17d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing17d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9217d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit17d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing17d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9217d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
