Twisted Metal: Hello, Mr. Grimm

If the battle against the Brothers Grimm is any indication of the quality of the Twisted Metal boss fights, color me intrigued. And for those of you eager for a real car combat challenge, crank up the difficulty on this one and punish yourself with a truly maniacal fight.

This looks absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! Holy S***! That ending gave me chills!! My most anticipated game for 2012 for sure man, screw anyone who thinks this is a small title.

Crazyglues5325d ago (Edited 5325d ago )

Wow.. Awesome trailer...

The game is indeed looking a lot better then it was before...

Agreed. I was a bit worried at the first batch of footage but now I'm fairly certain this entry will do the series justice.

I have had this game preordered for months now. Glad to see the game getting the attention it deserves. I am really excited for this game now! Jaffe you have really outdone yourself this time.

IMO I can't wait to play Sweet Tooth's story. It's nice to see the story go back to it's dark undertones like in TM Black.

Oh yeah. Twisted Metal is going to make a hell of a comeback. The boss fights are going to be insane.

Og as soon as i heard that song nostalgia hit me TM games always did have good soundtracks can't wait for this hopefully it sales enough so we can get more Twisted Metal it's been missing in action for awhile.

When they captured me, all I could think was, "What a waste!" All those people I hadn't killed yet. Come the night of my execution, there must have been over a thousand people gathered outside to watch me fry. I was upset about that. There should have been more.

-Sweet tooth

Edit:Found the song.

I used Mr Grimm a lot, he was weak but his special weapon more then made up for it.

Gotta love Rob and White Zombie. I like the one that was on Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, Ratfinks, Suicide Tanks & Cannibal Girls.

TM2 was my favorite, so glad they are returning to that overall visual style with the characters, especially Calypso.

Wow cyberpunk is a great pick up. If you haven’t played it you should definitely give it a try

Christopher369d ago

Banishers was dragged down by the need to go back to old areas multiple times.

GhostScholar370d ago

Also if you bought it at launch and couldn’t deal with all the bugs it’s a totally different game now

stupidusername369d ago

Played it on release and thought it was a mess. But I'm currently playing it again now on both PS5 and Switch 2 with cross save progression, and it's really different to how I remember it. Really enjoying it now, and it's really polished and immersive.

darthv72370d ago

Despite owning the 2077 One X console and the steelbook edition of the game... i still have never played it. I may actually give 2077 a try (via the portal) as there has been so much talk about it again, thanks to SW2 and now this comparison vid from DF. https://youtu.be/SvGQik3m6a...

dveio370d ago (Edited 370d ago )

I think it's an okay decision or happening.

iirc, wasn't there even a new and probably last update coming soon announced recently?

I've never played 2077, neither. (I am still a bit mad about their ... well, anyway.)

But I think it can't get better to play that game, or any game for that matter, in a 100% complete, fully updated build.

DivineHand125370d ago

Cyberpunk and Risk of rain 2 are the best of the bunch. Not a bad month if you are one of the few that haven't played those games.

yeastori370d ago

Cyberpunk is probably one of the best games I've ever played, even when it came out with all the bugs and glitches and broken gameplay on consoles, I still loved it at its core because the world was exactly what I wanted in a dystopian vision of the real future and the story was actually well done and compelling. With the fixes and then Phantom Liberty I just knew that this game could've been GOTY winner if it hadn't been released too early and released on PS5. XBX and two years later.

shinXseijuro370d ago

Might give cyberpunk a chance now that the game redeemed itself . Is it only the basic game or with the newer content ?

xHeavYx370d ago

According to the article, it's just the base game, but the DLC will be 30% off

TM3 is my favorite but I'll take what they bring out gladly. Fun times back in the day and great soundtracks

Cacabunga652d ago

Last one on ps4 wasn’t good at all.
Hoping for some good reboot or remake of the first 3

Dagexon652d ago

You mean the one on ps3?

Cacabunga651d ago

Yes i do, thanks! I realized too late couldn’t edit

Lego 2K Drive features an exciting mode called Brick Brawl, inspired by Twisted Metal. Players can create, share, and upload various cars, including ones like Sweet Tooth. The game boasts thousands of custom cars, ranging from the Batmobile to the Sweet Tooth ice cream truck.

InUrFoxHole652d ago

Never understood the like for the series. Not my bag but I know a lot of gamers are clamoring for a new game and liked the TV. Series

TiredGamer652d ago (Edited 652d ago )

TM1 and 2 are time period classics. They were a bit rough, ugly, and grungy, but they felt right during the time period they were released and they scratched that early console “death match” itch before FPS games would completely swallow that market.

Many great memories with friends playing couch co-op and 1v1. Short, and quick-and-dirty gameplay that we returned to over and over. I’d buy a remake or proper remastering of the first two games day one.

InUrFoxHole652d ago

Lol, nice! I remember having the tiger handheld or watch..

FinalFantasyFanatic651d ago

I played those so much as I kid, I bought the Twisted Metal games that were on PSN as Playstation Classics, wow, they feel clunky by today's standards, they could really use the remake/remaster treatment.

UltimateOwnage652d ago

Twisted Metal: Black is when the series really hit for me. I still love that game so much. It was kind of downhill for the series after that IMO. I'd love to see the series go back to its roots, but I don't hold out a lot of hope for David Jaffe coming back from where he is these days to oversee development of a competent sequel.

Snookies12651d ago

Black was the pinnacle in my opinion. I adored TM1 and TM2, for sure. But Black brought it to a whole new level of awesome.
