Rockstar explain how bullet time will work in Max Payne 3′s multiplayer

Bullet time’s never really worked in multiplayer. Games like FEAR and Stranglehold all dodged the issue because, well, how exactly do you implement slow mo when there’s more than one person playing? According to Rockstar, Max Payne 3′s 16 player multiplayer pulls it off using players’ line of sight.

R* did they wrong move by annoucing GTA5 - MP3 has been over shadowed by this annousement.

I think the only reason R* annouced GTA5 was kill SR the 3rd buzz.

Edit: GTA vs SR is like COD vs Battle Field - GTA is a giant but you can not deny that alot of GTA fans have ventured over to SR. Sure SR will never do GTA numbers but I think R* is more than numbers and felt like GTA4 dissapointed alot of people.

MP3 will be good but people are holding off on any hype becuase Remedy is not making it.

Gazondaily5268d ago

I don't think R* felt threatened by SR:3 in any real way.

The game looks incredible, especially the animations. The visceral gunplay is in a league of its own too just like how the original Max Payne games were. The way the guns behave and actual bullets come out- couple that with very realistic animations and we appear to have quite a unique game.

I hope GTA 5 doesn't eclipse this game but I think this game will be able to stand on its own legs.

Could not have said it better myself. The game looks great. The first two games are still some of the favorite shooter games. Max Payne 3 seems like it'll be among them. Way to go, Rockstar.

They have so many kill this and that sandbox games Saints Row and GTA have many more competitors.

Mr_cheese5267d ago

There are a fair few on the market, but I don't think a lot can compete with GTA, especially if we look at it from the San Andreas era.

inFAMOUS
Prototype
Fable
Red Dead Redemption (did extremely well, but R* game)
Assassins Creed

The major competitor would be Skyrim, but since they seem to be every 5 years...

" R* did they wrong move by annoucing GTA5 - MP3 has been over shadowed by this announcement. "

I can see where you're coming from, but people who are looking forward to Max Payne 3 aren't going to skip the game just because GTA 5 has been announced.

@ Mr_cheese

Fable games aren't sandbox games...

Hufandpuf5267d ago

Red dead redemption did bullet time really well. Even in multiplayer

Does anyone remember the Timeshift multillayer? That was well thought and extremely innovative.

I got 80% trophy completion on Ragnarok but left a few of the battles. Will come back to it one day.

Miraak82 1051d ago

Dragon Quest 11 is my top pick

RpgSama1051d ago

Dragon Quest XI was such an AMAZING game, I had a blast from the very beginning all the way to the very end, it actually got better the more you played, full of surprises as well.

Another game that I enjoyed from the very beginning all the way to the end of the 100% completion was Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Really, really, really fun game with a great heartfelt story.

Where is Horizon Zero Dawn?? where is Ghost of Tsushima?? I just got my Platinum on HZD and is now trying to finish the Frozen Wild expansion. so much care and love went into that game and it really shows. I especially adore the lore and have sunk many hours listening to the logs and reading journals. the back story is great and the gameplay is awesome. can't wait to replay on the hardest difficulty on NG+. next in my list would be to finish GoTsushima

Tacoboto1051d ago

Ghost was fantastic especially after Iki Island and the PS5 upgrade. 100%'d that, Horizon Forbidden West (not ZD), GoW (not yet Ragnarok), Spider-Man, and R&C: Rift Apart.

Each one absolutely worth it.

Aloymetal1051d ago (Edited 1051d ago )

100% I would like to add to you list RDR2, amazing as well and the perks from getting the Legend Of The East outfit is awesome.
Sekiro as well, have to play twice to get it but it's worth it!

Demetrius1051d ago

I agree I'm on my 2nd playthroughs of both horizon forbidden West(zero dawn I played also) ghost of Tsushima except I'm replaying it on PS5 this time, the iki island expansion is amazing

ClayRules20121051d ago

Yeah, GoT was already an AMAZING game on PS4, but playing it on PS5, along with that expansion, just even better.

Elda1051d ago

I just started my copy of GOW:R, enjoying it so far.

DefenderOfDoom21051d ago (Edited 1051d ago )
