At least PC owners are getting it now....

Better late then never.

SKUD5263d ago

On the PC. Friends don't let friends Alan Wake. Console port with in-game adverts inbound.

Kran5263d ago

Remedy have said that the graphical improvement of the game will surprise many.

JTX5263d ago

Just another butt hurt, pc elitist douche bag moaning like a lil bit€h about "consowitist". Nothing to see here, move along.

wallis5263d ago

I think you'll find you're the one who's cries seem the most pathetic.

Sidewinder-5263d ago

People either ended up playing it on Xbox or just don't care anymore.

At least they're selling the game as a whole this time... (fuckin dlc)

Kran5263d ago

Well the DLC bridged the game off a bit, as is Alan Wake's American Nightmare, meaning they have their own stories.

Alan Wake episodes 1-6 is the main main story, and Alan Wake 2 will follow that.

Sidewinder-5263d ago

"Well the DLC bridged the game off a bit, as is Alan Wake's American Nightmare, meaning they have their own stories."

That's what they WANT you to think. To make it seem justifiable.

wallis5263d ago

Frankly I'm not buying it. It's too damn old, it didn't create a big enough splash in the xbox community for me to feel like I should care, and the excuse they gave last time as to why we couldn't have it was belly achingly retarded. I don't give a shit if you console players think I'm an elitist arsehole crying because every time we ask for something crazy like graphical options or the ability to OWN our games you decry us as stuck up pricks and hiss at us like vampires at sunlight.

I don't expect much but I do expect a damn game to come out on the platform it says it will for over 3/4 of it's development cycle. If they want to come back that's fine but they're going to need a God damn miracle to pull me into the realm of willing to buy it. There are better games out there that are newer, scarier, more innovative and most importantly, weren't made with a giant damn middle finger aimed at me and the way I like to play my games. If they had come out and gone "Oh yeah microsoft us a check for like a bazillion dollars to make it xbox exclusive" I would have been A-okay, because at least that's honest, and I would do significantly worse things to people I care a whole lot more about for a damn lot less, but the fact they came out straight faced and said, "yeah Alan Wake is meant to be played on a big screen and most computers have little screens...so err... there" was just a piss take.

I bet if Naughty Dog said the reason uncharted was ps3 exclusive was because "the game as an experience is just so much more valid when the controller you're using has a triangle isntead of a Y" the xbox community would have torn them apart. Console gamers can think whatever the fuck they want because they haven't had to watch half their games get delayed a month for crappy DRM, they haven't had half their annual line up just flat out not fucking turn up, and they haven't had to sit there and watch EVERYONE else play games that they can't play simply because of corporate politics. So you can think I'm a whiny prick all you want but here's the short,

Dear Remedy,

Take Alan Wake PC and shove it so far up your arse that the next time you blow your nose cover art comes out.

Go fuck yourselves.

A Late Look: Alan Wake

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "All in all, it’s not hard to see why Alan Wake has received a bit of a cult following (there’s that famous foreshadowing again). It’s a title that blends themes and gameplay, while pushing the limits of storytelling by putting stories within stories and letting you read those stories before you get to that part in… the story. It has flaws, to be sure - the gameplay side can’t quite keep up with the rest of its ambitions - but overall it’s a great game that stands out among its peers and is undeniably… one for the books."

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

gigoran8757d ago

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

jznrpg169d ago

People sometimes call Wal-Mart Wally World including myself

Tacoboto756d ago

I just bought two of the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies on 4K - both had digital copies expiring in 2023. Both were actually expired.

I'd be surprised but it's WB, of course they'd actually expire them

Knightofelemia757d ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Chocoburger757d ago

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie757d ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

Profchaos757d ago

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie757d ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

Asplundh756d ago

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.
