I said this very first time I saw the trailer, they absolutely look alike, so when the movie comes out there wont be confusion as to who must play this character, Ellen Page is a very good actress.

I was watching the VGA's with my son and my wife (who doesn't like video games, except anything made by Zynga (aka evil)) happened to be watching when the Last of Us trailer came on. I politely, but forcefully, silenced the crowd ("I've been waiting all week to see this so please shut up!") and as soon as Ellie's face hit the screen my wife exclaims "What is this, Juno!"

I personally would have loved it if Ellen Page was truly the voice actor/mocap actor behind Ellie. She's so cute!

I know the Japanese do it all the time, just look at any Metal Gear game, but American devs don't usually go after an actor or actress likeness in just an obvious manner.

A lack of creativity on Naughty Dog's part. Which is strange because Elena Fisher from Uncharted is so original and fresh. Not sure why they choose to go Hollywood with this one.

A lot of games are using digitized 3D models scanned of real people these days. What is so contentious about this? A lot of times, the voice actress does not match the character or the game designers envision some main character for the game model but not their voice. Half Life 2 Alyx is just one of many, many examples. There is the model they scanned for the game model and then there is her voice actress which looks nothing like the 3D model. Same for Chell in Portal, Yvonne Strahinsky in Mass Effect 2, and most famously, the female bosses in Metal Gear Solid 4. These actors and models get paid to be scanned in as a game character. Just recently watched a movie to suddenly realize the female actress was the one they modeled as Mona Sax in Max Payne 2.

There's no denying. NaughtyDog at least has the credibility to pick a very fine actress as a basis for this incredible looking game.
