Are Pre-order Bonuses Relevant?

Dan writes - "Month after month we see all the new releases accompanied with these pre-order bonuses, but are they really relevant anymore?

This question came up because of the Battlefield 3: Physical Warfare pack. This was the pre-order bonus for GameStop. Now Dice and EA have just given it away to all Xbox 360 owners free today. Now I pre-ordered Battlefield 3 at GameStop because that was the best bonus available. It gives you some guns that none of the other retailers would match and now they are giving it away to everyone for free? I’m kind of angry about it. If I had known that everyone gets it for free I would have pre-ordered the game at best buy or Amazon to get their bonuses. "

We all paid the same price so how is it unfair that we get the same things in the long run? It's not like you paid extra money for the extra equipment, you just had access to it for a set amount of time.

And it should be no surprise that everyone's getting it for free, DICE even said it.

If its something major like Early Access to SWTOR, then I guess so.

Nope unless it's a 10-20 credit for a future purchase. These skins and weapons are a complete bunch of BS imho and in fact make we not want to order the game because I know the content is locked on the disc.

they are just annoying, with some games there are 5-6 different preorder bonuses from different stores

it wouldnt be so bad if they unlocked them for everyone at some point for free or even a slight price but they usually do not

Depends on how good the bonus is.

Battlefield 3 Cut Missions From Campaign Detailed by Former DICE Dev

Battlefield 3's former Lead Designer has revealed that there were two cut missions from the main campaign

XiNatsuDragnel499d ago

I wish someone can get those EA game leaks to see all the cut content ngl

anast499d ago

Get rid of campaigns, move the game to mobile, and try to compete with warzone. They would save time and money.

hmmm I think there will be no old BF glory days for EA since they are loyal to their greediness and laziness :D

Knightofelemia1284d ago

You're asking for a miracle with EA that will never happen unless they can exploit the money making schemes behind it.

MadLad1284d ago

We'll see what happens now that Zampella is overlooking the series.
