
During the VGA pre-show, Ed Boon briefly talked about upcoming projects after receiving the Best Fighting Game award when nobody was watching. Boon revealed that NRS is currently working on other franchises outside of Mortal Kombat and that there’s no more DLC in development.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

I do hope the next MK iteration goes back to the core of what made these characters appeal in the first place. A few of them lost their edge - I think I've had enough with some of the auntie designs 😂

That's great, so when MK comes back it'll be stronger than ever. No point of Capcom-ing an MK title
I bet they are contracted to work on the new Killer Instinct. Hopefully it would be as good as the last MK.
Am I the only one who found the character models in MK very underdeveloped?
The gameplay was tight and it felt like the old MK games but the characters looked really deformed and cartoony looking instead of real people.
