PC Tech Comparison: Batman: Arkham City

PC versions of cross-platform titles are often characterised as simple ports with only the power of the hardware itself giving any advantage over their console equivalents in terms of higher frame-rates or superior resolutions. Batman: Arkham City on PC is not one of these games. It's enormously improved over the console game, even if the initially broken DirectX 11 rendering mode grabbed headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Does anyone know if Arkham City (PC) looks better than Uncharted 3. I don't care about differences such as open world etc. I would just like the technical details of the visuals.

I have ac for pc and uncharted. Yes it looks better than uncharted. But only on pc. U can see the dimples in batmans face and his stubble even. Not to mention no "jagged" edges so round objects are actually round thanks to dx11. Uncharted is the best looking console game but many pc games, even ports, look better.

Thanks dude, was curious about this. I don't have a rig powerful enough to play modern games so i just stick to ps3. Uncharted 3 is gorgeous even though i didn't enjoy the game that much, so its pretty impressive that there are games that look better.

Batman looks better. Running it in Direct X11 with PhysX enabled looks substantially better than Uncharted 3.

There are many PC games that look better than Uncharted 3. Now me saying this on N4G will most likely get me a restriction ban as i have no more bubbles to be taken.

oh yeah you get a few more polygons? Big fracking deal, I would still rather kick back and play this game from my recliner on the big screen. Yes I know you can do this with a pc but not as easy.

limewax5281d ago

Really? What part about it is harder. Both systems require powering on, both require you to run the game and that is really all there is to it

rattletop5281d ago

the part that is harder is that he is fat to get off his ass and move around. lol

bozebo5281d ago (Edited 5281d ago )

Yeah. It's "not as easy" because you don't have it set up at present. It makes perfect sense to be honest and I wouldn't go out of my way to set up my PC to play it and/or upgrade or buy a new PC for any 1 game either. I just already have it like that for so many other games...

If these were screens of the next-gen console game graphics people would be fapping away at the screen. Not making smarmy remarks about PC gamers.

I hardly could see a difference.
