"Firstly I want to apologise for how late this review is going up, I didn’t feel it would be fair to judge the game without completing the main game and at least trying New game+ mode to see how much the difficulty cranked up. Now, Where to begin with Dark souls. The spiritual successor to From software’s famously hard and incredibly enjoyable title “Demon’s Souls” Dark Souls take much from their previous game but with many additions and changes that make Dark Souls a unique experience."

This feels like the epitome of a 'tepid take'. Dark Souls has always worn its gothic horror influences on its sleeve, it isn't exactly subtle.

dark souls plays around with horror themes without being a straight "horror" game.

bloodborn definitely starts out as that haha.
