Mass Effect 3 Preview | NowGamer

It’s hard not to feel a hefty burden on your shoulders after five long years of colossal sacrifice, fragile allegiances and life and death decisions, and now it’s all finally culminating in the harrowing climax to the Mass Effect saga. Suffice to say, everything is at stake.

I really need to finish 2 I am literally a few missions away from beating the game...I think 3 will be epic...but I hope Bioware doesn't let us down like how they did with Dragon age 2....Just terrible man (wipes tear from his eye)

I'm most curious to import ME2 save where Shepard survived the Suicide Mission but almost every squadmate died. That I mean, Miranda, Jack, Garrus, etc dead. I also have a ME2 save with Shepard not making any alliance with anyone by killing them if he has a chance.

How is Shepard going to fight in ME3 with almost every experienced squadmate dead? I assume the game simply replaces all the dead member with generic characters but the idea of ME1/2 recruiting is to get experienced squad members. If their death in ME2 doesn't effect the outcome in ME3, I will be very disappointed.

That is an interesting idea Vortex. Might have to try that myself. Will give me an excuse to go renegade on that play through. Lets see what happens, it might turn out to be a similar scenario where if Shepard dies on the suicide mission you wont be able to import your save game and will have to start 3 from a fresh run.

I have quite a number of difference saves in ME2, not just the main game ending but I also chose how I ally with the Cerberus and others in DLCs. I have to keep a chart to remember what decisions I made in each save files.

Since Bioware has been hyping about the importance of decisions made in ME1/MW2, I'm putting a lot more expectation on different paths and outcomes in ME3.

If Bioware didn't make a big deal of this hype, I wouldn't have expect as much.

That's marketing. If they want to hype, my expectation goes up and rate the game harder if they lie about the hypes.

At the moment, i am just hoping any new info on the game, even if it is a tiny bit of inconsequential piece of info or even something about a show stopping bug. Getting rather tired and annoyed of articles and sites pumping out the same old crap we have been reading for the last 6 months with very little info trickling down from their PR department. Not including the recent MS dashboard beta/storyline F-up. That info i stayed well away from. Hoping the news that bio-ware are releasing at the vga's on Saturday will be something decent in the way of news.

To put it into some perceptive, as of this post, there is only 12 weeks, 3 Days (87 days)left until March 6th 2012 or 12 Weeks 6 days (90 days) until March 9th if you are only getting it on that Friday. So i say roll on with that femshep trailer we were promised and lets get cracking kicking some proverbial reaper backsides.

I read recently Bioware has completed developing ME3. Since they have about 3 months, they better do a good beta testing and fix just about every critical bugs.

My concern is they may spend too much time testing the multiplayer than the single player because I don't care about the multiplayer. If they can get the single player rock solid and have time, then go ahead and spend time on multiplayer. Single player must come first in quality.

Sorry Vortex, could not respond to your 2.1.1 post so i will post it here.

Like yourself i have 5 toons ready to go and have done something similar with an excel sheet(including all the dlc choices too) with all the different choices for them. Probably not as toons as you have but that is enough for me. That's why i found that part interesting, never really though about killing the majority of the squad mates off intentionally to see what happens. Thanks to you, i am going to give that a try.

As far as marketing is concerned these days, i have been gaming long enough to learn to be able to look past the hype and to be able to look at any new information / news for a new game and take it with a pinch of salt these days, that way i can walk into a game and just enjoy it for what it is on launch day ( bugs or no bugs ) without having some preconceived notions overriding it's enjoyability.

3.1 Response.
Interesting news on ME3 being completed, thanks for the heads up on that one, will go scout around for that info. As far as multilayer goes, I absolutely and unequivocally share your feelings on the multilayer portion of the game. I have no interest in MP whatsoever either and they better not mock the SP portion. If i did not already have such a vested interested in ME 1 and ME2 i would have already canned my 3x N7 pre-orders of ME3. I knew canceling the orders while being severely irked about MP would have been a stupid thing to do. Even though i am still royally annoyed about the MP at this point, i have decided to see what the demo holds next year before i make my choice.

*sigh* At the end of the day, regardless of MP or not, i will probably be in line on day anyway. Besides, if i canceled my GF's copy now i probably would not live past launch day so MP would not matter anyway haha.

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine530d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast530d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman530d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier
