Streamlining Mass Effect 3 won't ruin it

Rumors say that Mass Effect 3 might feature new gameplay modes to appeal to a wider audience. Is that such a bad thing?

SybaRat5285d ago

I'm much more annoyed that they didn't rehired Morden's voice actor.

TheOtherTheoG5285d ago

They might have done, they just hadn't done his voice acting in time for the E3 demo or the leaked beta.

I think this story mode/action mode stuff is a great idea, but I don't like that the author knocked the Mako stuff from the first game.

Exploring planets was an excellent break from the other stuff, it felt very hard-sci-fi in a cool way, and it was a billion times better than the horrible tank platforming in ME2.

I WANT MORE BORING TANK STUFF.

streamline? Oh no, I know where this is going. Don't let Mass Effect succumb to the mass media. If the Elder Scrolls can improve in every way each iteration of their games, keep the core the same, and still sell like no tommorrow, then I don't see why Mass Effect would have to take things out in order to please people.

You clearly didn't play morrowind

Morrowind has the original Charm. Skyrim is great but morrowind. Oh little me.

Hufandpuf5285d ago

i was playing it yesterday. the gameplay is outdated. only mods can get me to play it.

I didn't really love Mass Effect 2, so this doesn't bother me too much. However, if the shooting part of the game was smoother, I would really be happy. ME2 seemed a little confused on whether it wanted to be a tps or an rpg and was never really great at either one in my opinion. I have high hopes for ME3 because I really like the story in these games, but I'm not holding my breath on the gameplay.

I agree that streamlining can be a good thing, I hope they change the UI so the game can have gamepad support on PC for ME3. The controls were so simple there was really no reason not to have gamepad support.

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast533d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman533d ago

He was one of my least favorite characters. I wish they would have done the Proths different.
