Did they really just put Resistance 3 on the same level as Duke Nukem, Brink, and Bodycount??

wow resistance 3 really? Cheap move msxbox-world, nowhere is that even remotely true and dozens of reviews and quite a bit of fan support will attest to that. Low sales don't mean a bad game and the other points they made are actually opposite what I thought of the game.

They just called Driver SF "average" and included R3 on this list so they can go f**k themselves.

Resistance 3 was a really good game.

The game does not focus on quick scoping, and you are NOT taken through the story with hand holding... like a lot of mindless shooters these days. You make all the decisions, not your squad, you are fully in contol... not the game. I hate the current approach to shooters... follow this guy to the next door, wait until your squad opens the door... etc.

The story is great, the weapons are unique and inventive, and the game play is flawless. However what can we expect from most mindless shooting fans... most of this bunch just wants to jump on line, auto aim, and rank up. The Resistance franchise has always been more that this... For instance...

First console shooter to offer 40 v 40 matches, and 60 v 60 matches... in the first two games alone. Keeping in mind it was Insomniac's first ever shooter, on line game, and first outing on the PS3. Then again I guess innovation in shooters in frowned upon. Take the most popular one at the moment as an example.

R:FOM had a great on line community, and very old school arcade style gameplay, with weapon pick ups, carrying all weapons, etc... it was easy to play, but hard to master. This made it great!
R2 was much more main streams, but did wonders for on line CO-op. Probably the weakest in the franchise as it tried to follow the trend. Completely negated hip fire... which was a mis-step I think.
R3: Tried to combine both elements from the first two. This worked well in most parts. Told a lot more story and answered a lot of fan questions.

Good game, even better story and a really unique shooter that innovated every time. Who said shooters needs to be the "same game every year"... clearly the majority as I guess sales = quality... right?

Some people need to wake up or shut up.

Guessing this is only about sales because R3 scored an 83 on metacritic so I'd hardly say that's a stinker...unless ODST and Alan Wake are stinkers too.

Really? Driver San Francisco is one of the most under-hyped games of the year. Also, can these console biased sites stop adding games from other consoles to their lists? They don't even have a PS3 section on that site, so why add a PS3 game to the list--and then use it for the image to this article?

Oh wait, it's because they know that N4G has a large population of PS3 fans, and that this will heat up to 1000 degrees. Also stinkers? Who uses that word?

I'm not defending R3 because I've never played it, but this just looks like another cheap, and borderline trollish tactic.

Resistance 3 was my favorite campaign this year , and I finished Batman AC , Portal 2 , inFAMOUS 2 , Killzone 3 , Dead Space 2 , and Deus Ex Human Evolution so far.

Some people are saying they were only commenting on sales and that is untrue because he basically went on to say that Resistance 3 wasn't a good game besides the sales aspect. He has his head up his ass if he thinks Resistance 3 wasn't a good game.

I knew this trash would be from msxboxworld or planetxbox360 before I even clicked on it. Sounds like 360 fanboys are mad they had 2 exclusives this year, and instead of blaming MS they try to turn it around on Sony and downplay all their exclusives. I've been seeing this tactic all year long.

Lol sales standards lol. Unless your a developing company worried about your job or a publisher who invested money and didn't get a return then you should have no concerns for sales unless your a fan of that franchise and the sales could impact a sequel.

Anyway Resistance 3 could have sold better but its only on one platform and its only been on the market for 3 months as well.

Believe it or not, Resistance 3 had the best Single player for all shooters released this year. Guess that doesn't mean much. It also had the most creative weapons of the lot using guns like the mutator, instead of the usual generic M4 whatevers. Better weapons and story than Rage, Bulletstorm, Killzone 3, Crysis 2, Homefront, BF3 ,and MW3.

And since when was Resistance hyped?

I didn't actually thing Brink was hyped up, really. Or at least I didn't really notice that much coverage for it.

As for Driver, I actually had quite a bit of fun with it. A lot of people went into it expecting something dark and serious, but really it's best not to go into it that as it's really more of a lighthearted game.

I'd say Modern Warfare 3 didn't live up to the hype. Now, before the fanboys jump on me, I'm not saying it's a bad shooter; it isn't, but for all the coverage and hyping up it got, it didn't really deliver on it.

To all those who aren't aware of R3's hype: The game was really hyped before release. What do you expect from a three-quel were its predecessor sold over 2 million copies worldwide (VGChartz)?

Bull. Resoistance 3 is a good game. there have been some stinkers and average games this year, but R3 isn't one of them.

Bodycount deserves low sales and was not very good, I can agree on that. Same with Duke.

Brink had potential, but didn't really work out. Driver I haven't played so I won't comment on that.

What about games like X-men - Destiny, LOTR: War in the North, The Cursed Crusade, Call of Juarez - The Cartel, Red Faction Armageddon, Transformers Dark of the Moon, Thor, Mindjack, Test Drive Unlimited 2, supremacy MMA, Venetica, The First Templar, Blackwater, Homefront or Rise of Nightmares. These are all games that are either bad or sold terribly or both...

anytime a shooter isnt on pc, you know it will be bad. Unless of course its an exclusive.

Resistance 3 for the record is a great game. Online is fun too. I think its just bad timing. I also bought Bf3 and i have been playing that non stop on pc. So Resistance 3 too the back burner. Bla bla bla sale just play the damn game before saying its overhype or whatever they are talking about.

R3 wasn't an over hype stinker, it was an under hyped under marketed gem.That is a vast difference.

I'm an upset gamer because the giant faceless megacorporation that I blindly defend with my heart and soul has been singled out by a competitors website that claims one my beloved platform exclusives was an "overhyped stinker." Who does this website think they are???

Well they can call Resistance 3 a stinker all they want, because if they actually owned a ps3, they would know that it turns all normal BluRay and DVD-R discs into 14 karat gold upon insertion into the disc drive. Are they not aware that just ONE single cell processor from the ps3 can launch an entire fleet of satelittes from the International Space Station??? Please, these hacks know nothing about gaming, because if they did, they would know that the ps3 is the bestest ever. It has been proven scientifically impossible for a playstation exclusive to be anything but amazing.

Ya know... these other websites that aren't all about the playstation 3 really should get their act together if they want to be taken seriously...

I'm calling BS on this dumb list. GoldenEye 007, Duke Nukem Forever and Resistance 3 were all superb. Resistance 3 being the best in the series, hands down. I felt more &ttachment to the people and scenarios in R3 than the other 2 and the story was extremely immersive.

I'm kicking myself for giving msxbot-world another hit. It's one thing to say Resistance 3 flopped due to disappointing sales but, don't say that it's an average shooter when you obviously haven't even played it. Resistance 3 most definitely is the best game in the series. It's one of the few FPS titles of 2011 that actually did live up to the hype.

I agree with Brink being disappointing. I had such high hopes for that game.

I also would have added Homefront to that list.

Resistance 3 btw Robert, has a higher critical avg than Halo Anniversary, Crysis, Rage, Assassin's Creed Revelations, Sonic Generations, so maybe you're focusing on the wrong 'stinkers'...again?

Where's your opinion piece about what went wrong with the HD Halo Anniversary game? The GOW Collection, GOW Origins Collection, Sly Collection, MGS Collection, Ico/SOTC Collection, Beyond Good and Evil, RE4 HD sets all have higher averages, so what if anything might this might say about 343's ability to handle Halo? Something? Nothing? Point is, enough with the PS3 talk. Plenty of other opinion pieces you could be writing more to the tune of your site's namesake console.
