Velocity Gamer: Even the cream of the crop games this gen haven't managed to avoid numerous technical glitches, cut-backs, and performance problems. If we are to move forward with the next console generation, these things have to go away upon arrival:

Insider Gaming - "Ubisoft has cancelled yet another game, this time ending development on the Animal Crossing-inspired title Alterra."

HALIFAX (April 14, 2026) – Laid-off Ubisoft workers in Halifax have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a settlement with the video-game giant. The terms of the settlement, including the compensation employees will receive, is confidential.
I can't sit here and act like I know these workers financial situations. And I'm sure nobody wakes up WANTING to go to court. But for the sake of the industry, I wish some of these types of cases made it to trial.
Settlements allow companies to continue to do whatever abusive practices they do. While the trials (should the company lose) would actually force real changes for the better.
But again, I'm not in these workers shoes and I can understand them not wanting to risk it.

Two-day event includes exclusive reveals, trailers and playable games on show floor.
I wonder if DCU is gonna be free on the ps4 with updated pc graphics? Man, it sounds too good to be true.
Patches aren't going anywhere, much less next generation. The more complex games get, the higher chance for error. Saying Bethesda is being lazy is kind of unfair when you consider the immense scope of their games. Patches for "unfinished games" are going to continue to increase.
P.S. Weren't the SNES versions of Mortal Kombat more censored than the Genesis ones? Or am I totally remembering incorrectly here?
I also actually think that mentioning nickle-and-dimers as a solution to paying for online play isn't really a solution. THAT needs to go. Worse than patches and the Xbox LIVE fee is developers who want to take an arm and a leg from you with crappy DLC. Worse when they include it on the original disc and ask you to pay to unlock it.
Another thing that needs to go next generation: Capcom. There, I said. You were all thinking it too. :p
