Video games shouldn't be fun

Having fun is overrated. Let's go yell at some hypothetical game developers about why that is.

As long as I can take a break from everyday life, I'll keep playing video games.

Games don't always have to be fun, but they should be entertaining in some way.

Example: Heavy Rain...There is a few times the game puts you out of your comfort zone. It's not neccessarily fun, but it's still amazing. Making you feel the way it does..Wow, that is truly something.

If the title alone is not enough to intrigue a click and quick read, look at the thumbnail... Enough said..

Hmm... nice read.

Off topic but, FF13 makes FF12 look like a masterpiece. Not sure why so many people hate on 12 to be honest, it sucks compared to 10, 8 & 7 but it's an amazing game in its own right. Just starts off really stupid and turns most of the fans of the series away before it gets good (which it does).

FF12 is kinda like 13 but with what the author mentioned about FF games - it has the painful, tough dungeons with hard bosses and annoying encounters but then after that you get to some new awesome area with new stuff to explore and new, subtle, side quests and some great plot development to progress the adventure. Though the plot in 12 is kinda bad, what the hell does Vann have to do with anything? Why can he see Pinello's father's ghost at one point? They just ignore that like it wasn't important or something... I eagerly awaited more story details but the game ended without actually explaining properly like Lost did, wtf. Still vastly better than 13 and its really loud footsteps though.
