MMGN: Shigeru Miyamoto is a legend of the gaming industry. He is the reason I, and so many of us, played games throughout childhood and continue today. However, for the sake of Nintendo and evolution he must step back and allow the next generation of talented Nintendo developers to exert their authority on the industry.

Shigeru Miyamoto recalls a story from Pokémon creator Satoshi Tajiri, explaining how a lighthearted remark led to the creation of Pokémon Red and Green.

TNS - "Games eventually stop running when newer versions come out," said Shigeru Miyamoto on why Nintendo is pivoting to movies.
They'll definitely stop running if y'all keep going after emulators and rom sites smh. Also movies get lost to history too. You got fans and pirating to thank for any effort being put into preserving movies. If not for them we'd be stuck with watching heavily re-edited versions of classics. It's so weirdly backwards to say that too when games have overtaking movies for years now smh
SMB movie made almost a billion and a half on a 100 mil budget , I'm sure Zelda if done right will make even more as it has a wider appeal . Easy money if they put a N branded quality movie every few years . Hopefully we'll eventually get a Metroid movie.
"Games eventually stop running when newer versions come out,"
Only if you make live service slop or online only single player games.
My classic Nintendo cartridge systems still run fine...

'We believe that it is important to nurture developers who take this unique concept to heart.' -Miyamoto
Well with the exception of Zelda and Xenoblade Chronicles series, Nintendo first party games are usually less demanding (see Arms, Nintendo sports series 2d kirby + mario games, Mario sports series, Warioware, Mario Party etc).
Zelda doesnt even have voice acting for its characters most of the time and its games use simpler textures than lets say Horizon Zero Dawn, Last of Us, Gears of War 5 etc which means that the development costs are lower.
Even so, their games are generally polished and well thought of and as the Switch generation showed, many of their franchises actually grew considerably in sales (Kirby , Xenoblades, Metroid etc).
Japan CEOs take pay cut to keep talent, USA CEO take 20 million bonuses and fire talent
I thought he already was...
Miyamoto is 90% of the company.
He's still a visionary in the industry. I wish he was doing more, not less.
Honestly I agree with miyamoto on customization, its pointless in a mario kart game, and it adds nothing to the actual gameplay.
The only thing I could dock him on is that he isn't good with online play. Thats it
His good? Well lets see here
1. Came up with the idea of the Wii
2. Came up with the plan to please the non gamers
3. Made Mario
4. Made Zelda
5. Help make the entire retro team
6. Saved Pokemon
7. Made Donkey Kong
8. Made Starfox
9. Made Pikmin
and so on...and so on...
To get rid of such a player is stupid and idiotic, he is smart and he knows what he is doing. The only thing they should do is take him off the design portion of the online play.
Ok seriously.. Does he have another good IP in him. Let's see when Wii U is released. I'm not talking Wii music, or wii sports type IP. I don't think he does even with all his genuis.
