Here's an interesting tidbit. Kinect is listed at 10 million shipped as of March 2011 but that number hasn't change since and it's 8 months later now.

They're both failing because people don't care about motion controls anymore. Look at how bad the Wii is doing these days.

i dnt own either move or kinect but when it comes to games i would buy the move wayy before i buy kinect, i do love the kinect intergration for the dashboard in the upcoming update though, skype and msn video chat mite get me to buy a kinect but not sure i wana pay 150 for a web cam.

the only game i've used Move for was Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition. i loved it, and i couldn't imagine playing it with a controller now. but the only reason i even have Move is because it came in a bundle when i replaced my fat PS3 with a slim.

i have Killzone 3 but haven't played it yet. i've heard mixed reviews about Move+KZ3. is it worth it?

Both Kinect and Move have a decent trickle of software. The problem is that none of the titles are must-buy for either device. At all. In the slightest. This saddens me, as I have both control systems, and like each for different reasons, and hoped, given just how hard MS and Sony pushed them initially, that something more would come of them.

Homerun Derby in MLB the show is a great enough of an excuse for me to use it.

Where are the datas to back up the claims and where are the sources. Also, remembered, Move count each controller and/or bundle as a unit sold as oppose to Kinect.

So this is a comparison of March sales of Kinect and recently published move numbers and we have an article saying something about closing the gap.

Those are some impressive numbers, they need to get some good games out tho.

I bought it for the LBP2 update. Looking for another one to play tho. Sorcery looks awesome, I hope that isn't too far out.

Be patient guys. Sony will bring more Move games after they get Vita out I'm guessing. Sorcery will make Move shine and it will be the beginning of more great Move games.

Wait, so they are comparing Kinect March data with recent Move sales? And where did they pulled these imaginary data from? and according to my Math, Dec-March is not 10 months.

According to official sources from both companies, the last official known sales data were 10 million Kinect sold in March 2011 from Microsoft http://www.joystiq.com/2011...

Those are the only official sources available. So in reality, Kinect sold 10 millions to xbox owners in March and Sony shipped 8 millions Move to retailers in April. I will leave it at that.

Kinect might as well have no games. Kinect is exactly what everyone predicted it would be, a gimmicky way for Microsoft to make money. NOTHING Kinect has done is worthy of anything.Just because you have more apples and more then half of them are rotten doesn't mean anything.Nintendo at least did it right.

Microsoft is flailing wildly around hoping to hit a target. I laugh at them trying to make mature games. The hardcore have most likely stopped caring or returned Kinect by now. And most people who brought it, its probably for their girlfriend or child. Point your finger to shoot or match in place to walk or point to press a button? As if they care.

No games have been release that interested me. If I play Killzone or Resistance 3 it will be with a Dualshock 3.

It's pretty selective to exclude games with Move support patched in. They're still Move games and still better than most Kinect kiddie land games.

I was hoping this article would show up here.

First, the numbers cited for Kinect by this site do no match the numbers published in Microsoft's own financials.

The site does not mention the fact that Sony counts everything as a Move sale, this includes bundles, navi remotes, pack ins and standard Move controllers.

I know many Move owners like myself who purchased more than one Move remote to play games like sports champions.

So there it is... food for thought.

I guess people are finally realizing that Kinect is pretty much useless for anything other than Dancing games.

Move won't be a runaway hit unless it's bundled with EVERY ps3. Don't see that happening.

I'm pretty sure Move and Kinect were just cash cows for both companies.

360 users are just made because all they got is a web cam with limits, where PS3 got a cam and a controller (best of both worlds).

You can cry about what Sony counts as sales, but it doesn't matter because that is how it is counted. Not like Microsoft hasn't done something like that before >_>

I wouldn't give two shits if Move was outsold by Kinect 100 to 1, what it comes down to is games and how they are played with said two devices.

What my choice of motion control needs is more 3rd party support from the likes of COD and Battlefield. Having said that the next game that I'm extremely excited for and having been hinted as having Sharpshooter support is Borderlands 2.

Considering that many Kinects are used by "third" parties for non X360 gaming and used for various other applications and the Move is only for the PS3 and gaming I would call it even steven for console gaming in general.

Maybe one day even I can find a use for a Kinect, like a door stopper? Just joking as its and excellent peripheral. Maybe Sony and M$ should team up and allow a Bluray on Xbox for a Kinect on PS3.

What happened to all the people that wanted Darksouls to be move enabled? With all the grinding and farming you have to do in that game your arms would fall off. 40 hrs of swinging my arms doesn't sound fun at all.

Infamous2 just got the move patch and its pretty awesome. Sony's got more first party Aaa titles that support it.

It's about the games theyre both very different. I'd rather play a dance game on kinect and I'd rather play a shooter with move. Gladiator duel on sports champions and the fight were great monpve games that aren't shooters.

I'd love if they did a Last Airbender game for Kinect. Could you imagine mastering all the tai chi bending moves?

Kinect is still outpacing the Move, even outside holiday sales. The problem with sony's numbers is they are counting individual move controllers, which monetary value is far less than kinect and the playerbase needs multiples, probably about 4 per household on average if not more. For a games publisher this is important because you aren't getting 4 people who are potential customers with sony's numbers, you are getting only 1.

Microsoft doesn't post numbers for HW every month. They'll do it again after Xmas, like always.

This is not accurate, we haven't had an update on Kinect since before E3. Not that I give a crap about numbers, but I'd also like to point out that if Move Sold 10 million, the install base certainly wouldn't be 10 million. Where as if there are 15 million Kinect's sold, the install base is 15 million.

Whats the deal with ppl complaining about Move counting the individual sales as multiple buys? Does the revenue not count? Is the second controller not purchased with money? Does SONY not make money?

Why are sales being used toi decide which product is better? The cheaper product will always sell more units. That's economics. The cheaper product is always just that though too........cheaper.

Move wins because it's bought by it's fan base and not because of silly advertising like kinect. I'm sure if sony spent millions to advertise the move, it would be outselling kinect by a long shot.

Move has been integrated in major titles and can be used from shooters (Killzone, Bioshock Infinite) to sandbox (Infamous) and the beloved LBP. The use of Kinect in games is very limited. Kinect Sports is the same as wii sports, nothing really changes and you only have to move your body in a static place. The best Kinect games is Dance central. The upcoming star wars game you only have to move your hands.

I always wanted a true to life surgery simulator for PSVR1. I always knew those Move controllers were precise AF under the proper conditions.

Move was a very accurate device under good conditions. Dr Marks even wanted to open it up for hobbyists and developers to extract more data to do more things. I even seen him use it for space, astronaut like simulations.

Sony always had the tech. They just needed the software to go with it. PS Move limit was not having an analog stick. Which it seems the PS5 controller made up for that.

I would like to see them use PS VR 2 for surgery or something with that eye tracking built in.
