Wow!! its killing the fanboy who wrote this article that MGS4 is exclusive for the ps3. Now since they finally realize that the game will not come out to the 360 after countless rumors that it was, now they scoop as low as saying that the game wont sell and that tis not a killer app. These fanboys are a special bread of species i tell you, that devote their lives to just downplay a very good system.

Don't forget that a couple of months ago XBOX 360 was outselling PS3 as much as 5 - 1 in the United States. I was afraid the ending could be soon for PS3.

But now the 360 is outselling the PS3 around 2-1 in the united States but worldwide it's closer.

As long as PS3 can atleast keep it respectable this holiday, It always has a chance to get back into the race in 2008, 2009 and beyond.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is turning into a third-party anomaly on the PS3. For Sony's sake it continues to be an officially non-timed PS3 exclusive even when others have left for greener pastures, but on the other hand its production costs are extreme for publisher Konami, and the big question is: How are they going to make that money back?

We don't know if Payton is expecting a global launch, but just for a point of reference, in the US that would require 50% of PS3 owners to buy the game on the first day.

I gotta laugh at this stuff because right now the install base is around 6.61 million and by the time MGS is released it's expected to be at or around 8.5 to 9 million...Roughly 2.5 in Japen...3 in the U.S and 3 in Europe...In Japan Dynasty Warriors 6 has sold nearly 300,000 copies already with an install base of roughly 1.40 million PS3's...Let me say that MGS4 is a lot bigger then Dynasty Warriors 6 so I would expect sales of roughly 500,000 it's first week there in Japan, and here in the States(500,000) and roughly 300,000 in Europe for a totally of 1.3 million it's first week...It should have some pretty solid feet also and would expect it's numbers to reach around 2.2 before it has to start crawling...

MGS4 is going to be a great exclusive and will help Sony the same way Halo did for Microsoft, i can't see how people are saying this system needs saving when its got a ten year plan in motion with a strong company to back it up

yesterday PS3 outsold 360 according to VG chartz by 400 consoles and PS3 was on it's way to domination. Today VG chartz changed their figures and added 40k more to 360 for North America and Microsoft released their estimation of 310k sold on black friday weekened or week or who knows. And now the PS3 is in the very edge of dying again.

Forget Killzone 2, Gran Turismo 5, MGS4, FFXIII, FFXIII Versus, Forget LA Noire, forget about HOME, Forget that there is always a chance that HDTV becomes very popular and people demand their entertainment systems to include HD playback because DVD looks like crap on HDTV's. Why do you think Bloodmask is so scared of Blu ray taking over? He wants HD DVD to rival it or if not Digital Distribution.

Forget about how Sony has an agreement for the makers of GTA Rockstar to bring a new exclusive to PS3. Forget about the possibility of Sqaure Enix ever making a remake of FFVII. Forget about PS3 selling more than 360 in Europe and Japan. Forget 360 already launched it's atom bomb Halo 3.

There's something to be said for "old media"; while you might not always agree with a publication, at least there was usually a passing knowledge of journalistic principles, and some editorial review involved. The PS3 just hit it's one year point, and it's right up there with the 360 in sales for it's first year, yet it needs "saving". What a freakin' joke. Consider this:

The PS3 came out one year later then the 360....with virtually no quality software....at a MUCH higher price....against a 360 that just hit it's stride, especially with the release of Gears that same month, and look at how well the PS3 has done comparatively in one year's time....it's neck and neck after both system's first year was done (give or take).

People don't seem to take the above into account. If anything, it's the 360 that didn't do well in it's first year. It came out with no competition for the generation (PS2/GameCube were last gen). It had the "next-generation" market all to itself for a whole year, yet it only managed to do what Sony did in it's first year, despite all of what I've outlined above.

Set all fanboyism aside, set your preference of system aside, set your favorite games aside and you simply cannot argue this point, not because it's a "I'm right you're wrong" thing, but rather the facts. I own a PS3 and a 360, so it's not like I'm choosing sides, I'm just stating the often, and conveniently left out facts.

The PS3 is doing extremely well when you consider all things, and while I'm sure the "disagree" will get quite high on my response, I don't care. You simply cannot disagree with this no matter how much you hate the PS3.

Stop buying into media BS, marketing mumbo-jumbo, etc, and think about this. Leave all outside influences out, and take into account what I said above. Fact is fact. You cannot argue this no matter how hard you try.

The ps3 is sure to pick up in sales when you can get MGS4 and GTA4 all on one console in about the same timeframe. Plus complimented with games like GT5, LBP, white knight story, and Tekken 6 you can't go wrong.

We should also note that MGS4 can sell well in all territories.

Since people like to talk about Halo being a system mover, MGS4 will have the same effect for the PS3. Not to mention FF13 which will also sell consoles. i want FFXIII more than any game ever lol and i've read quite a few interviews with the devs. Now this 09 business was never a report from the devs themselves. It just shows you how shoddy a lot of western journalism is. It all stems from a rumour that was never really substansiated. Something along the lines of "ohh err,, translation make take some time,"

now i'm not an idiot ff games have a big tendency of being delayed but what i find kinda dumb is the fact that these editors consistently keep saying that FF13 is coming out in 09(like it's fac) when the devs themselves have continously repeated otherwise Even in the new trailers; both with an 08 and for ps3 only tag.

Even in his article after saying that he ignores the potential of FF13 and Versus (a game he refers to as a spin off(like a lot of western journos) which would make nomura's blood boil) coming out in 08. It's like 09 is a confirmed release date in his head.

The reason i post this is because i strongly believe 13 will be out in 08, but in japan. and that alone will do a hell of a lot in a territory that love ff. If people think that the ps3 outselling the wii in japan was just a mild blip on the radar then you've gotta look a things in perspective.
4 ps3 games are in the top 10 of famitsu's most wanted. ALl of the multiplats are wanted on ps3 (dmc last remanant etc). FFXIII has been in the no.2 position for i think a year now.

The PS3 have sold around 6 million with a reasonable install-base of 80 million Ps2 owners.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Killzone game after Killzone 2 play style would be nice

Motorstorm would be epic with the visual upgrade, maybe this game would be a harder sell with the genre being not as popular nowadays..

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

Resistance series and Killzone 2 & 3 remasters/remakes. Make it happen. They will print money.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too
